This is a huge topic and something that I have a lot of personal experience with. I couldn’t fit everything I wanted to say onto this one video so I’ll go into the finer detail in future videos.
This is a really important video to watch for any adult female that has a problem with persistent acne.
You are what you eat, and this is especially true when it comes to your skin. In most cases, a healthy diet will clear up a significant amount of acne, and for others it will even clear the skin completely.
So among many other reasons, I try to eat well most of the time. I believe eating well prevented my acne from becoming as bad as it could have been. I also believe eating well keeps the inflammation and redness of any spots that I get to a minimum. Sometimes we can eat really well all of the time, but still experience spots or a breakout for other reasons, such as hormones, stress or the wrong cosmetics. What diet will do is help prevent these spots from getting worse and being as bad as they could have been in the first place.
On my recent trip to Sydney (so recent I’m typing this on the plane on the way home), I was so impressed with the amount of healthy food available to consumers. Continue reading →
I’m sitting in a beautiful cafe in Bondi Beach. I’m visiting Sydney for a couple of days, and just made a trip to Bondi to take a look because even though I’m Australian I’m ashamed to say I’ve never been to Bondi before!
Check out the desserts in the front of the window at the cafe I’m sitting in. And notice in the picture how I’m just drinking green tea. Yeah, I look so disciplined, but just between you and me - I’m saving my ‘treat’ for later. That’s going to be my 10% food for the soul after the 90% I’ve been eating for my body
Bondi Beach is gorgeous and even though I was lugging my laptop around with me so I could write a blog article, I still took a walk down to the beach and almost put my toes in the water …but it was a little too cold for me to go for a swim.
I’ve forgotten my sunscreen and hat which made me think about skin, acne and the sun, and the controversy about whether or not the sun is good for clearing acne. Continue reading →
I had an interesting chat with my makeup supplier today. She’s a beauty therapist and a naturopath which is the perfect combination. If I ever go back to study I’ll definitely follow the same path!
I’ve been so fed up, frustrated and down about my clogged up skin and persistent mild acne breakouts of the past couple of months. It’s so %$^% annoying because I cleared my skin and then this happened. I always thought it was because I went a bit over the top with the OCM but I wasn’t 100% sure, until she confirmed it today.
The biggest mistake I made was doing the OCM twice a day over the hottest time of the year in the tropical climate that I live in. Apparently this is why the oil got trapped in my pores The OCM did such a good job at clearing up my cystic acne but because I made too many mistake with it, it ended up giving me a very bad case of cosmetic acne which I’m still struggling with. Keep in mind that I have super sensitive skin that seems to react to most things I put on it.
Does this video horrify anyone else? I feel really sorry for this girl who’s had an acne problem since puberty (same age as me but ~geez~ I’m glad I’ve only had my problem for a year) and maybe she does need to look at last resorts. BUT, it only fixes 80% of cases, costs a fortune, you need to go three times a week and I doubt it would really ‘cure’ the acne because if you’re getting acne this bad then there’s obviously something going on in your body that’s causing it.
How safe is this laser thing anyway? This video is crazy.
