Are You Become Too Obsessed About Eating For The Skin?

I was on a skype call with one of my coaching program members, Julia, this morning and we were having a conversation about mindset and food. Julia said something which really hit home to me so I thought I’d better record a video about it-

Another great video :) I really want to sign up to your program but I don’t have acne, just the occasional break out now (managed to clear it by following your advice). I would love to be able to sign up anyway just to see what it’s like and you have really inspired me to eat healthier so access to the recipes and videos would be great! Do you think I would benefit from it? :)

Hey Beth, you can always just sign up and take a look around, watch the videos etc. If you don’t think it’s for you or that you won’t get enough out of it, I’ll give you a refund straight away :)

Sometimes I have the mentality…that if there is no organic or healthy food in the house i should not eat at all…especially in the mornings…when I cant if any find any food….. Any suggestions???

I appreciate this video but I think it’s a bit of a catch-22 situation.
If you want to eat for good health you have to be conscious of what you’re putting in your body and then all these rules and restrictions come into play, sometimes I feel like is there anything we CAN just eat?

For instance, I only just discovered on this blog that you are supposed to soak oats and nuts for 8 hours before you eat them but who on earth has time for all this food preparation? And surely thinking this far in advance every time you just want to have a meal, IS obsessing about it?

I for one, feel a bit confused and pressured by all these rules when all I want to do is be as healthy as I can but apparently it has to be organic, and wheat-free is better, and oats have to be fermented. It just feels too hard.

Hey Steph,

You know what, I’m an incredibly lazy and very unorganized person so I do often forget to soak my grains. So instead I kind of stick to a diet of mostly fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds and then I know I really can’t go wrong :) It’s true, some nuts DO need to be soaked, but not all of them do, so if you don’t have any activated nuts lying around, eat the nuts that you don’t need to soak, like macadamias.

And yeah, agreed about the obsessing with it thing. If you find it a chore and not fun, then really, don’t worry about soaking the grains or eating wheat free. Because the most important thing is to feel happy about what you’re eating and the food you’re preparing because as soon as it becomes a chore the ritual around eating turns bad .. I’d much rather see you eating what you love and enjoying the process - that’s the primary goal. Does this make sense?

I find it easier to leaving grains/nuts soaking over night so I don’t have to think about it. Then they’re ready for you the next day. It’s not that hard to dump some in a bowl and add water. I even put mine in the fridge to prevent mold and I can leave them soaking longer. After draining the water you give it a quick rinse and either cook it right away or leave it in the fridge up to a few days.

I am obsessed with how I eat =S sometimes I even prefer not to eat than eating fast food or something I think will break me out =S but u are right, it’s better to just relax and try to eat healthy most of the time and not obsess with the idea of trying to eat PERFECTLY ALL THE TIME like I do….. lol

Fran, I have a question, I’ve been eating raw oatmeal as breakfast 4 days a week (I soak the oats overnight and putt chia seeds and one spoon of bee honey) Is this a good breakfast?? What do u think?? Do u recommend anything else??

I’ve also been eating salmon with grilled Bell pepper (Capsicum annuum) and onions, I heard that those vegetables have a very high inflammatory index is that right?? should I stop eating that (I eat it A LOT) that’s why I ask u, I would really appreciate ur answer amiga =D I just love each and every one of ur Articles and videos, I’ve come soo far and u are such a great Aussie Girl = ) ALL THE BEST FOR U AMIGA XXXX
