I was surfing YouTube last night and stumbled across this video. It’s awesome. It shows how quick and easy it is to touch up photographs in Photoshop.
What I love about this video is how it’s a great lesson for us perfectionists to stop spending so much time standing 2 inches away from the mirror and examining every tiny little detail of our skin. Remember – perfection is rare, if not impossible.
This video was created by a young girl for a school project (damn she’s good though), so even though it’s a great demonstration on how many improvements you can easily make to a photo in Photoshop, I still don’t think the after shot looks that great.
It did however make me wonder why I hadn’t used Photoshop on my photos before!!? I kind of feel like it would be cheating with me considering the topic of my blog so don’t worry, I won’t be touching my images up. Although I am going to take the teeth whitening tip because I have fluridosis damage on my teeth so I’m very embarrassed about the color of them. I figured that’s my teeth not my skin so it should be okay …
Anyway, enough rambling. Here’s the video:

hey — love this post — very similar to the Dove evolution ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hibyAJOSW8U
Hi Fran,
Just found your blog for the first time…right now I don’t have pimples or anything, just red blotches on my cheeks.
Most material out there is focused on getting rid of acne that is large cysts or pimples, I’m trying to find some information on curing these red spots, could you direct me to any posts you’ve written on this?
Thanks,
JJ
Hi Justin,
The red blotches on your cheeks could be rosacea. Usually rosacea flares up from the sun, a change in temperature or certain foods that you eat. It’s best to consult with a doctor or dermatologist about it if you haven’t done so already. There’s also heaps of info on the net about rosacea.
Hi Fran, I should have clarified. I already looked by Rosacea and I’m sure that’s not what I have.
I had an awful breakout about a year and half ago and now the red spots are all that remain. I used a certain cream for blotchy skin that has helped and now I’m looking for something to get rid of these marks for good.
I was hoping you’d have some experience in removing red marks that are left behind by pimples…
Justin
Oh right, you’re talking about acne pigmentation scars. There’s heaps of discussion about that in the forums. Go to http://www.highonhealth.org/forums/ and do a search, you’ll find heaps of info.
But don’t worry, with a bit of time and a bit of exfoliation the red marks will go.
