i occasionally dab toothpaste on my ‘larger’ pimples.
sometimes it dries my skin out a little but sometimes it takes the redness away.
im not sure whether i should continue using it. i have found that it does work but only sometimes.
i believe that the more expensive brands of toothpaste like colgate and listerine work better than cheaper ones.
However they still do burn your skin. But I guess it depends on the amount you use.
I think it’s okay to use. If it’s safe enough to put in your mouth then it’s safe enough to use on your skin.
You can try using tea tree oil or apple cider vinegar (ACV) instead, but they won’t dry the pimple out as much.
I’ve found that using a dab of a white mud mask mixed with ACV works really well to draw out the toxins and dry the pimple out.
The main reason why toothpaste works is because it dries the pimple, so anything drying would work just as well.
To get rid of the redness (temporarily) you can crush up some aspirin and add aloe vera, then put it on your spots for about 30 mins. It takes away some of the redness and inflammation for a couple of hours. It’s good if you have a big one on your nose and you have to go out (don’t laugh - it happened to me)
Grants has a good natural toothpaste with teatree oil in it. It works great at stopping blind pimples in their tracks, making the redness go away. I dab a little bit on and leave it over night.
There are a lot of people that claim toothpaste works on pimples, but it hasn’t ever helped or healed any of mine. In fact, I think it actually creates redness on my skin.
I’ve seen in other places that they claim tea tree oil works. That’s probably the part of the toothpaste that works on some people.
hi fran thks for doing this video well i have an experience with toothpaste and i used it the first night and dabbed a few here and there on the pimples…it definitely helped dry out those yellowish-greenish sick looking pimples and made it smaller and less swelled up…and of course i woke up the next day being really happy especially if its a new fresh isolated pimple that u know’s about to surface so i tried the second night and this time i put it more here and there but still dabbing it…the next day…some of them went down but another area near one of the pimples become a pimple ): i wasn’t sure if i rolled around my pillow lols which i was a little surprised and now i’ve seen this vid and i know why!(: so yupps i definitely agree its alright to put jus one or two isolated pimples…but not everywhere and i think its better to not move ur head around when ur sleeping cuz u won’t dry out those non-pimple areas. Some people say some toothpastes are a bit stingy cuz of the mint and all and doesn’t work…for me it was slightly stingy but it was manageable and my acne did become better…well actually overnight i could feel the difference…and they recommended a less stingy toothpaste brand called aquafresh…i haven’t used it before for my teeth lols but i think its just trial and error…see how the skin fares(:
lols i watched hollywood beauty secrets and they say that jennifer love-hewitt uses toothpaste on pimples(;
Use visine on a q-tip to soak the pimple… it will get the red out for a couple of hours!
Also, oregano oil is supposed to be a great anti-bacterial… since pimples are caused by bacteria… it is supposed to work well.
I don’t think it’s such a great idea to put toothpaste on your skin…whenever you dry it out, aren’t you prematurely aging it? Bad. D:
