I’m looking for a few fabulous people who’ve managed to either clear their skin completely or are well on the way to “recovery” to share with me how they did it.
While I’m confident I can work with all of you to get you on your way to clear skin, I really am just one girl so I can only blog about my own experiences …which is why hearing from others that have done the same is so valuable. And not only will your story help me out with the blog a lot, but of course it will help many others to clear their skin too.
Following success stories and case studies is also a good way for acne sufferers to know that achieving clear skin is possible.
And in return for helping me and High on Health out, I’m happy to personally offer you (for free) any skin care or health related advice that you may have, which is a service I normally charge for.
As my blog gets bigger and bigger I’m finding it difficult to answer everybody’s questions in blog comments, email and my forum.
So I’m going to record a video roughly each week that answers some of your skin care questions. I’ve created a thread in the High on Health forum called “Ask Fran” which you can use to ask me questions about anything skin care or acne related.
Each week I’ll select some of your questions and do my best at answering them in a video which I’ll post to my blog.
Hi everyone, just a quick update on where I’m at and what I’m looking forward to on the blog next year. I can’t believe I’ll be back home in Brisbane in just five days!
I have some huge plans for the blog next year. I’ll be adding a shopping cart and selling some of the products I use and recommend so they’re accessible to everyone, no matter where you live. And starting January I’ll be experimenting with The Body Ecology Diet using myself as a guinea pig. So I’ll be posting a lot about the diet, and how it’s affecting my mind, body and of course – skin.
One of my most active High on Health readers, Kevin, suggested to me the other day that I create a Facebook group for High on Health. Thanks for the tip Kevin!
Well, yesterday I did and after I created the group and wrote a few things in there I honestly didn’t know what to do with it. So today I had a quick look and was very surprised to already find six people in my group! Yes, my sister is in there and so are three of my close friends, but that’s not the point ..I made a Facebook group and now there are people in it.
I’m not ashamed to say that yes, I do spend a lot of time procrastinating in Facebook when I should be doing more productive things like writing in my blog.
But lets face it, we’re all turning into Facebook addicts. So what a great place for friends (and friends of friends) of High on Health to meet and share ideas. I also needed a place to post bulletins and updates on what I’m researching and what I’m doing and Facebook is the perfect community environment to do that.
So if you’ve got a Facebook account, join my group and write something on the wall, or post a picture …or just do whatever you normally do in a Facebook group.
And of course please let me know if you have any suggestions on how you’d like to see me utilize the group as the owner. Because I actually think it looks kinda dull in there and I want to pretty it up a lot.
An update on what I’m doing
And for those of you who don’t have a Facebook account for whatever reason, here’s an update on what I’m doing –
This week I’m in Montreal trying to get myself around without being able to speak a single word of French. It’s beautiful here and I’m loving immersing myself in the French language and pretending I’m a French-Canadian too. My short time here has definitely inspired me to learn the language.
For High on Health, I’m currently trialling an exciting new 100% raw, 100% natural moisturizer that I picked up in New York City. I had planned to meet with the owner of this product before I arrived in Manhattan, so my trip was a bit of a business trip too, not just a holiday
I’ll wait another 2 weeks before I write about the product so I’m absolutely certain that it’s the best moisturizer ever for the skin. But so far the results are amazing. I have never used anything like it.
I’ve also just learned about a very promising supplement for adult acne sufferers, pantothenic acid, which I’ll be doing a lot of research on because it sounds like something that really works well with the body at getting to the root cause of the problem. This means a possibility of clearing the skin by 100%. I can’t wait to share what I find!
If you’ve ever wondered what I actually look like in person or want to meet me, I’m teaming up with my travel buddy and blogger friend, Yaro Starak, to host a Toronto Bloggers meetup this Thursday.
So if you’re in Toronto and have nothing to do this Thursday night (August 21st), come and hang out with me at the Live Organic Food Bar on Dupont Street (just across the road from Dupont subway station).
Live is my current fav restaurant in Toronto, and it is AWESOME. Everything on the menu is raw, organic, vegan, super healthy and super delicious.
Travel buddy and I rode our bikes to the restaurant on Saturday afternoon, and between the two of us quickly ordered and gulped down three “Chocolate Surrender” milkshakes straight up when we got there.
These milkshakes are my favorite item on the menu. They’re chocolaty, delicious, and good for you. They’re actually sweetened with dates and figs which is a combination I’d never thought of before.
I’ve secretly memorized the ingredients so I’m going to try and reconstruct it at home. Mmm, I wish I had one in my hands right now.
The first time I went to Live I’d never been to a raw restaurant before so I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew was that raw food is really good for you, so of course I was expecting healthy yet bad tasting food and of course a ton of salads. Wow was I wrong.
If you can believe it, Live serves raw pizza, lasagna, noodles, and even sushi. Of course because it’s raw there’s no bread, pasta or rice, which is what makes these alternative twists of the traditional dishes even more delightful.
Guilt-free pizza and chocolate milkshake
I just had to show you my pizza and chocolate milkshake combination I ordered at Live after my bike ride. It’s a great healthy alternative to the greasy mess of a pizza and chemical cocktail milkshake you get at many other eateries.
I love how Live takes some of our favorite ‘junk’ foods and turns them into incredibly healthy alternatives.
If you live in Toronto and can’t make it on Thursday night, make sure you drop into Live sometime and try their food.
Oh, and if anybody lives in New York, I’ll be visiting in a couple of weeks time and I’d LOVE to know if there are any raw or organic restaurants in Manhattan. Umm, and if anybody recommends the Sex and the City tour
