Feeling Comfortable In Your Own Body (Plus How To Get Rid Of Cellulite)

Over the past two months I’ve finally after almost 32 years of age started to fill out and put on a bit of weight. This is an absolute blessing for me because I’ve always been typically underweight and craved having more feminine curves. And while I’m not quite at “voluptuous” just yet, I’m loving the feeling of my fuller and more Earthy body. It did take me about a month to get used to it, but now I’m loving it and kind of want to see how far it goes.

In this video I also give a couple of tips on how to get rid of cellulite. I had it even when I was thinner but I have a little more now so I’m working on shifting it. Don’t beat yourself up if you have it too! 95% of women have it – it’s just the way we store fat. More in the video..

How To Clear Eczema Naturally: Part 1

A big welcome to our newest writer Casey Loraine. Apart from being another red head (which automatically makes her awesome), Casey is super in the known about raw food and kooky alternative health stuff which is why of course she has climbed on board with us. Casey has started her High on Health journey with a three part series on how she treated her own severe acne. Here is the first article of the series, enjoy!

**********

I know all about having uncomfortable and unsightly skin conditions which make you feel ugly and self-conscious. I know how red bumps, lumps and rashes make you want to hide away from all contact with the outside world to avoid another stare, comment, look of horror or sympathy.

For most of my life I was covered with severe and debilitating eczema from top to toe. Think bleeding, itchy and excruciatingly painful rashes all over my body. Yuck and depressing is right. For over 25 years I used steroids daily in an attempt to manage the angry red rashes, which only weakened my immune system and made the next bout of eczema that much worse.

Finally, after experimenting with natural therapies and diets of all kinds for a decade, I found my way out of that cycle of pain and misery. I found a way to manage my eczema naturally and to reduce the symptoms significantly without relying on drugs. Not only do I now know how to manage my health to prevent and reduce eczema breakouts, I have turned my life around in every way imaginable. My health physically, mentally, emotionally and even spiritually has reached whole new heights.

I offer my experience here so that you know that you too can be free of the misery that comes with poor skin health. I’ve been there and come out the other side, and I have worked with countless clients to help them do the same. No matter what kind of skin condition you suffer from, whether it’s acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, hives, fungal infections or any other kind of symptom, there is a way to make it better naturally, and even get rid of it entirely.

Below I share with you the first three of my top tips to get beautiful, healthy skin, no matter what symptom you are experiencing. The rest of the tips will come in Part two and three of this series. Everyone’s skin is different but these tips all work to detoxify your body and improve your health at a cellular level – so that your skin mirrors your vibrant inner health.

Strawberry & Lemon Facial Exfoliant Recipe

lemonsI have this weird little love of being able to eat whatever I put onto my skin. As most of you know, I cleanse my skin with honey and occasionally use it as a mask while I’m lying in the bath. I kind of like how when I accidentally get some on my lips I know I’m eating something yummy and super nutritious for my body!

So my bathroom cabinet doesn’t look too different to my kitchen pantry. In fact, you’ll always find jars of honey, salt, fresh aloe vera, sesame oil and organic essential oils in both rooms. I love playing around with my ingredients and coming up with new face masks to use on my skin. It’s actually pretty easy. Just gather together a bunch of non-comedogenic ingredients then go crazy. Make any combination that you feel is great.

Here is one example of a great recipe that’s perfect for oily skin and even better for getting rid of comedonal acne. The aloe vera contains natural salicylic acid and the fruits contain alpha-hydroxy acid, which are both good for exfoliation. Basically this recipe will give your skin a good scrub out while you’re having a great time lying around with a mix of yummy food on your face ;)

Strawberry & Lemon Facial Exfoliant

  • 1 Tbsp of lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp of aloe vera gel (fresh is better!)
  • 2 Tbsp of jellybush or manuka honey
  • 1 cup of mashed strawberries

Mix all ingredients together then spread onto your skin avoiding the eye area. You may want to lick the bowl! Leave on for as long as you can, but at least 20 minutes is enough for your skin to thank you.

The Best Ever Eye Mask To Help You Sleep

As you probably know, I’ve just returned from an epic two month trip to the United States. Traveling can mean uncomfortable sleeping arrangements so I travel with a few sets of ear plugs and an eye mask because I always end up needing them multiple times. This trip I made sure I bought the roles royce of eye masks and OMG this little treasure of an eye mask ended up being the most valuable item of luggage that I carried around with me.

I’ve used all types of eyes masks in the past, some okay and some terrible. The main problem is my nose is not one of those cute little button noses that girls have. Mine is more of a grown up woman’s size nose which means little peep holes sometimes appear on the bottom of the mask which lets the light in. I also seem to have a weird shaped narrow head because I never seem to be able to get the eye mask on tight enough.

But this little beauty solved all of those problems. The Dream Essentials eye masks have an extra padded bar on the bottom of the mask which somehow stops those little peep light holes from creeping in. This means it truly does block out 100% of the light. At times I’ve actually thought it was the middle of the night until I’ve taken the mask off and realized that the sun is shining!

And the strap at the back means I can velcro it onto my head super tight, so no more struggling with keeping the mask on. But the very BEST thing about my mask is the aromatherapy pocket – a feature that I love, love, love!!!

Dream Essentials has a few types of masks. The one I’ve been using is called the Dream Essence which features a pocket in the front for an aromatherapy sachet. The sachet that came with the mask is lavender which helps aid relaxation and sleep. The position on the mask means you can smell it while the mask is on. I loved smelling the lavender and it really did help me sleep. Sometimes I’d even wear the eye mask when I didn’t need it to block out light, just so I could fall asleep smelling the lavender.

But if you don’t care for an aromatherapy pocket, my next choice would be the organic mask which is made out of certified organic cotton and wool. Either way these masks are excellent. I’ve tried many different types and this one ticks all the boxes and more!
