If you’ve ever wondered what I actually look like in person or want to meet me, I’m teaming up with my travel buddy and blogger friend, Yaro Starak, to host a Toronto Bloggers meetup this Thursday.
So if you’re in Toronto and have nothing to do this Thursday night (August 21st), come and hang out with me at the Live Organic Food Bar on Dupont Street (just across the road from Dupont subway station).

Why Live Organic Food Bar?

Live is my current fav restaurant in Toronto, and it is AWESOME. Everything on the menu is raw, organic, vegan, super healthy and super delicious.
Travel buddy and I rode our bikes to the restaurant on Saturday afternoon, and between the two of us quickly ordered and gulped down three “Chocolate Surrender” milkshakes straight up when we got there.
These milkshakes are my favorite item on the menu. They’re chocolaty, delicious, and good for you. They’re actually sweetened with dates and figs which is a combination I’d never thought of before.
I’ve secretly memorized the ingredients so I’m going to try and reconstruct it at home. Mmm, I wish I had one in my hands right now.
The first time I went to Live I’d never been to a raw restaurant before so I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew was that raw food is really good for you, so of course I was expecting healthy yet bad tasting food and of course a ton of salads. Wow was I wrong.
If you can believe it, Live serves raw pizza, lasagna, noodles, and even sushi. Of course because it’s raw there’s no bread, pasta or rice, which is what makes these alternative twists of the traditional dishes even more delightful.

Guilt-free pizza and chocolate milkshake
I just had to show you my pizza and chocolate milkshake combination I ordered at Live after my bike ride. It’s a great healthy alternative to the greasy mess of a pizza and chemical cocktail milkshake you get at many other eateries.

I love how Live takes some of our favorite ‘junk’ foods and turns them into incredibly healthy alternatives.
If you live in Toronto and can’t make it on Thursday night, make sure you drop into Live sometime and try their food.
Oh, and if anybody lives in New York, I’ll be visiting in a couple of weeks time and I’d LOVE to know if there are any raw or organic restaurants in Manhattan. Umm, and if anybody recommends the Sex and the City tour

Oh man Fran. This makes the people who aren’t in Toronto so sad, lol. The food looks really good.Hope you can share the recipe with us,
or you can keep it and market it off, lol. Option one is better though
If you are looking for a good place to get raw food in NYC then you have to make a trip to Pure Food and Wine. I was just there about a month of ago while visiting my friend Dana who lives in the city, and I really wanted to eat at a raw restaurant because I had never before in my life. It was some of the best tasting food I have ever eaten. The food was very well prepared, and there was an extensive menu with all sorts of delicious things. I do not know if the server chocolate milkshakes though XD. Anyway you can look up reviews online, and if you do go I would love to hear how you liked it.
Address - 54 Irving Place, New York, NY 10003

Ahh too bad your only looking for Organic Restaurants in Manhattan. I know of a fantastic one in Queens, NYC. I’ll tell you the name and address anyway just in case you end up going out of Manhattan.
It’s called Tierra Sana Whole Food Fusion it’s on 100-17 Queens Blvd Forest Hills, NY 11375. You can take the R, G, V train to 67th Ave. [You must be wondering how I know all this rofl but I have the menu and card with me. I just went there yesterday.]
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEIR SMOOTHIES.
My favorite is called Powers On.
