I was in the park the other day having fun with a digital video camera a friend has very kindly lent to me, and of course I had to record a video for High on Health so here it is. Enjoy the background, a couple of boats and a skateboarder go past!
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments about this video.

Hey Fran. I was wondering if you could tell me more about the colin cleanse that you chose to do? I know there are a few. I know it is an awkward conversation, so if you prefer to email me, that’s cool. I don’t know your email address.
Thank You
Fran, yay for Brisbane! The sun is still shining here even though it’s winter!
I’m looking forward to the future posts about anti-aging foods (though I guess at 23, that’s a bit silly to start worrying about). I did have a question though. You have mentioned that dairy products sometimes can contribute to acne, so I was just wondering if you think yoghurts with probiotics are ok to eat regularly (I eat yoghurt pretty much everyday, I go through a 1kg tub a week). Also, I have the BeeYummy Skin Food, which I LOVE and was wondering if honey helps with anti-aging? It’s not a major concern of mine though, I definitely think lifestyle, diet and sunscreen can help with anti-aging more. Thanks! x
Hey Amy, does this article answer your questions? http://www.highonhealth.org/can-colonic-irrigation-cure-acne/
Hi Dancinggal- Yeah I know Brisbane is awesome! Notice how I was wearing a short sleeved top in that video too, it was so lovely and warm and winter!!!
Yogurt is a tough one because there are so many good things about it. I’d say if you have a cows milk allergy then it’s better to stay away from cows milk yogurt as well. Kefir is probably a better option even if it’s made on cows milk, just because it has SO MUCH more friendly bacteria. OR you can try goats milk yogurt.
The bee yummy definitely helps with anti aging! It’s full of heaps of nutrients that are great at fighting aging. The women I’ve given it to that are over 50 LOVE it too.
Hi Fran,
I love the background-looks gorgeously sunny there. We have a heatwave in the UK so it’s nice and hot here too (for a change!). You mentioned in the video about drink choices when out and about and this is something i’m struggling with. I have given up fizzy drinks and alcohol but when i’m out with my friends i feel a bit of a party pooper when I only order a mineral water. Any suggestions for good, healthy drink choices that won’t break me out?
Hi Beth, yeah I always look REALLY boring asking for water, especially if it’s in a bar! Luckily for me though, I have a lot of healthy friends so herbal teas, water or juice are the norm for my circle of friends and so no, I don’t look too lame.
I think just stick to being your beautiful original self and perhaps your friends actually really respect your choice of healthy mineral water
Hey fran!
I absolutely LOVE the background, and the video was greatt=)
I have some questions about diet…
I seems that i’m very up and down with my diet…When i’m at the center of a breakout, I eat super healthy, but once my skin nears clear, i’m not so strict, kinda like “screw it! have some fun!” lol ohh and healthy for me is completely no sugar, no dairy, no white breads/pasta, and I focus a whole bunch on fruits and veggies.
Well, I broke out a bit ago, so i’ve been eating healthy these past few days (and my skin always clears up)…but it’s talking longer than i thought. I still eat wheat, could that be a problem? I just don’t know if i want to give that up as well because I like to have bread with eggs and I eat sandwiches a lot.
Also, I know that is a wee bit off topic, but when I started unexpectedly breaking out earlier this week, It was actually because of PMT, but my period was not due for another week….I got it a whole week early. Do you know why this could be? I shouldn’t be irregular…
Sorry this is sooo long fran=/
but Thank you sooo much!
<3
Hi Maya, we can break out for SO many different reasons so sometimes it’s best not to analyse it too much – it’ll only make you stressed and you might start worrying about something that isn’t correct.
If you’re considering about giving up wheat, you could trial going off it for 4 weeks and seeing if it makes a difference to your skin and overall health – you might find that it doesn’t make any difference, or you might actually love how you feel off the wheat. And while you’re off wheat there are many other grains that you can eat. Look for spelt in particular, or you can eat gluten free if you want to be super healthy about it (but it’s difficult to find a nice gluten free bread).
Hi Fran
I am a Brisbanite and I was surprised to see you wearing a summery shirt on a winters day. I love Brisbane and look forward to returning back as I am in Canada at the mo.
In regards to your video, I understand your philosophy. I am trying to get wheat out of my diet. So trying to limit my bread intake for toast (which is hard) for when its breakfast. Any ideas what I could have for breakfast, being that its the most important meal of the day
Ciao for now. Maybe I will bump into you in Brisbane
Hey Kylie, yeah I was in the sun and I was wearing boots and 3 pairs of socks so I was getting hot!!!
For breakfast I’ve been eating oatmeal instead. OR you could make a smoothie. But you can still have toast – just try a different grain like spelt, or buy gluten free bread.
Yep, I’ll see you in Brisbane, you’ll probably bump into me in West End, make sure you say hello if you do
Hi, Fran!
I know I’m off topic but I have one question for you: I am curious what is the role of toner in a skincare routine? Is it necessary to use it, what are the benfits, which one to choose, do you use it? Maybe you could do a video blog post about it?
I absoultely loooove your blog and your videos and all the helpful tips you give. I also just ordered the Bee Yummy moistrizer and the mint chocolate and am so excited for the package to arrive!
i’ve heard that spelt is not gluten free.. what do you think, Fran? i got a little confused about that
Hey butterfly, I think I’ve only used a toner once in my life! I personally feel that it’s an unnecessary step. My philosophy is to really simplify your skin care routine as much as possible. And thanks for the compliments
Agnei- Spelt (which is an ancient form of wheat) is not completely gluten free but it’s very low gluten so most celiacs and people with gluten intolerance find that it’s okay. Try it and see how your body reacts.
Ar Fran I am so jealous. I so want to be in Brisbane right now. I am a nanny and my last family that I worked for were Australian and moved back to live with their family in Brisbane … weep weep I miss them so much ! If you see a little chubby boy called Ben and his sister Jade please tell them that Chrissi loves them and misses them so very very much !!! lol xx
