Food Matters: The Documentary That Changed My Life

–> Click here to watch the Food Matters documentary preview

Food Matters DVDI had a difficult time recording this video and writing this blog post because I honestly don’t think I can properly convey how much of an impact Food Matters made on me, and how amazing it is. It honestly changed my life. It completely opened up a huge vault of information that I doubt I would have easily found before.

I realize now that the diet and nutrition information we’re given in the mainstream media is very old and outdated, in fact …some of it is so old that it’s actually unhealthy information.

Food Matters talks a lot about the importance of organic food, and why it’s better (in case you were wondering). The documentary also talks a lot about healing both physical and phsychological disorders with nutrition alone, and demonstrates how this is possible.

To me it was fascinating to learn how destructive our own medical industry can be, by not providing adequate nutrition to patients, and causing a huge number of medication related deaths. But that’s getting a little too political so I’ll let you learn more when you watch the doco.

Here’s the link again, and make sure you write a response in the box below if you’ve seen it. I’d love to hear what you think.

Hi, Fran!
I am glad you liked the movie;-).
It is pretty informative and I highly recommend everyone to see it, along with SIMPLY RAW;-)
Although, we have to remember that there was not everything said – because it can not be in public. S
So, it is good to dig a little bit, learn from the experts than step aside and use our bodies to figure things out.
In raw food movement, as much as any movement there are times when people are still disconnected with their own bodies, although they eat organic, eco, vegan foods.
I was at the same place, eating whatever ‘experts’ were eating, thinking that this is the best choice.
Now I more listen to myself and experiment.

I think 2008 was a good year for vegans and even raw foodists. Movies came out, the whole awareness shifted. We had this hype about eco.
I hope 2009 is a year of applying everything we’ve learn.
Cheers , Fran!

BTW, Fran!
I was pretty sceptical about Bee Yummy facial cream, but eventually I asked for samples. First try was a ‘NO’, second one was a “Maybe”, third one was a “MUST!”.
Now, when I am putting it on my face it feels like I am given so many nutrients and moisture that I could just lick it off! Feels amazing feels amazing feels amazing! I already sent them a page long Thank You letter;-)

BTW 2. Have you seen : Sexy Crazy Cancer ?
This one is a BOMB!
MUST SEE!

Hi everyone ,

So I just saw the film online and I have to say that it was very inspirational indeed. My one complaint is that the movie was more focused on why one shouldn’t use prescription medication and how one can cure cancer, which is great and all but the title was a bit misleading.

There 4 people though who really got me glued to the screen were

Andrew Saul
David Wolfe
Charlotte Gerson
Phillip Day.

All of the ones I listed other than Andrew Saul really got some vital information about food into the documentary, especially David Wolfe.

If anyone knows any documentaries or film of sort by David Wolfe,Phillip Day or Charlotte Gerson please let me know. They were exceptional in the documentary while the others kind of made me lost in translation at some points.

So yeah, please let me know of any documentary by those three and thank you Fran for telling us about this.

I’m off to look for more documentaries,
Kevin. :)

Hi All ,

I have just watched the foodmatters documentary, and I got interested about the amazing results it reported. As a first step I thought to google a bit about the Gerson method and about the use of high dosage of vitamins, the two most promising parts according to me. While searching, I stumbled upon some links which also include some critical viewpoints on the claims in the movie:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Gerson#Gerson_Therapy
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megavitamin_therapy

I hope you find the links helpful.

Cheers,
John

Hi, Fran.
I finally watched Food Matters over Thanksgiving week after hearing a lot about it from you. I didn’t think the doc was so much about food as it is about the Western medicine/pharmaceutical industry and health/medicine practices. A huge part of the doc was about treating cancers and how the number of cancer patients and deaths has increased immensely since the 1970’s, and how diet and large doses of Vitamin C can be used to treat cancer. The cancer discussion was the most shocking and interesting to me, as a viewer.

I was a little disappointed because I, like you, was expecting some life changing information. I was disappointed in the lack of diet information there was in the film. It will, however, change my outlook on cancer treatments if I am ever diagnosed with the disease, God forbid.

Thanks for writing,

Sarah
