I’m a newbie gardener but wow, I’m really loving it! I have discovered that edible gardening isn’t all about growing herbs, you can also grow skin care which is so awesome. Aloe Vera for example picked directly from the plant is so incredibly powerful and healing. WAY better than buying aloe vera in a tube, even if it is 99% …

In eastern Europe (where I come from) it’s normal that everyone who lives in a village has little garden behing house. Most of my family grow: carrots, cucumbers, strawberries, berries, apples, tomatoes and many many more. It’s not very hard, my 80 years old grandma has huge garden with lots of vegetables and she does everything around it, just by herself. I live in flat but my kitchen is full of herbs .Even one summer I successfully grown my own tomatoes in pots. It’s lots of fun and gives you contentment. Thanks Fran for spreading this great idea!
Hi Fran,
I have thought about growing my own wheatgrass for juicing. I think growing our own food or skin care will be beneficial as I think it will be cost efficient in the long run and it will also be of organic quality. Oh yah, I think it will be fun too!
Cheers,
Joseph
YES!!! I have been wanting to grow a garden recently, and have been researching a lot! Of course, it’s winter here right now, so I’ll have to wait a couple months…But I definitely want to grow some parsley (for homemade quinoa tabouleh, YUM!) and maybe some basil (pesto anybody?). I already have an aloe plant inside (well, two actually; a mother and a baby that I haven’t gotten around to re-potting yet…oops!)
So yeah, I think that hearing more about gardening would be really great for me, of course it isn’t directly related to skin care…I guess that uf a lot more people are interested, you might consider doing more videos?
Oh, and right after I finish weiting this, I’m googling ‘comfrey’ to see what that’s all about…
‘Kay, bye now! <3
Hi Fran,
I have been thinking about starting a garden, I have a huge back yard that has nothing but grass at the moment.
The scary thing for me is the bugs, I am terrified of bugs and here in Georgia (USA) there are so many of them, there are always a lot of mosquitoes which prevent me from going outside..
Anyway, I just wanted to say I love seeing your videos about eating, exercise and gardening I think it is very closely related to skin care. I ate raw food for about 2 weeks and I had no spots whatsoever then I went back to eating SAD foods because I binged on nuts and salads, which turned me off of the raw foods I had been eating- and a week after I started eating SAD I had 6 cystic acne spots :( Maybe it’s because when eating SAD our emotional health is much worse, for me that is so true and so the acne comes back.
Aww Mariya, the bugs are our friends! Find yourself a really good natural insect repellent like neem leaf and you’re good to go :)
Yes i’m really interested in gardening!! Especially tips on doing it in apartments (I also have 2 balconies). I feel like I don’t even know where to start.
I think gardening is going to become bigger and more important than ever – I just have this feeling that people are getting drawn to growing their own food. Especially knowing that the food is more nutritious and organic.
I buy as much organic as I can. It’s not always affordable though unfortunately.
I’ve thought a lot about growing things like herbs and some foods like tomatoes. It probably costs a lot less to grow them than to buy them at the store.
But I can’t do the whole aloe thing because I’m allergic to it. It makes my skin itch.
>Ewa
which country are you from? :)
I’m from Poland, but currently I live in UK. What about you?
>Ewa
I live in Poland (but unfortunately not in a house with a garden) :)
