I need to start reading my own blog

I need to start listening to my own advice. I’ve been a bit stressed today and my skin is looking great so when I dropped into the health store this afternoon after work I bought myself a pack of organic choc chip cookies. I’ve just eaten half the packet and I tell you what, the nausea and guilt is so not worth it.

I’ve been getting back into eating sugar almost every day so it’s going to have to stop. I’m only allowing sugar now on weekends, which means Monday to Friday are sugar free days. I can’t trust myself keeping it in the house either.

My stomach hurts. The rest of those cookies are being handed out in the office tomorrow!

Please try not to feel guilty about eating half a packet of choc chip cookies. It may make you feel sick, & maybe next time you’ll just eat two or four, but never feel guilty about it. It’s hard to cut out sweets altogether. Maybe every now and again you could turn a couple of cookies into a mindfulness meditation. Buy one or two special individual treats. Set them out on a beautiful plate with a pot of tea. Eat them slowly and mindfully, savouring each bite.

Lol @ Wing Hong, :)

But one year later ( cause it is I checked the date :) ) do you still agree with this bizarre(sorry) food schedule of only eating sugar on weekends? Going through your well hidden archives it looks like you put yourself through alot of things that regularly people dont go through.I thought we were obligated to eating the whole packet of cookies cause they’re organic or is that bad? Is it safe to over eat on healthy food?Like those cookies, can we eat say the whole pack because its organic or do we treat it like regular not so healthy food?

Hey Kevin,

Refined sugar is really bad for our bodies for many, many reasons. If you ever get a chance to read ’sugar blues’, it tells you exactly why.

If I had the will power, I’d rather not eat refined sugar at all, ever. Natural sugars like fruit sugars, agave, honey and maple are okay as long as you provide the body with enough minerals to process it.

It is a different way from thinking, and something that possibly most mainstream eaters and even nutritionists think is excessive. But the fact that refined sugar is very bad for our bodies is nothing new, we’ve known about this since sugar was first refined, a long time ago.

Still, 10% for the soul is great :)
