I’ve Been Raw Vegan For 20 Days!

This raw vegan thing is a little too easy. I thought it would be so much harder than this to be honest. There are so many beautiful foods that I can still eat! It’s kind of made me want to have a bit more of a challenge :)

Check out what’s been happening in my raw life over the last few days-

Sounds sooo… good. I will try raw vegan for 30 days too but i think im too young too right now (im vegerarian though).

I also think that you leg hair are fine. I only saw a little but it is very noticable. Sadly, I was going to ask you if you could do a review on an organic product for me called moom. it’s a hair removal product the is better and safer than waxing, moisturizes you skin, is washable, comes with resuable strips and is great for sensitive skin. But you can bearly see any hairs so how could you do review. lol.

u can make ur own sugaring mix too out of sugar, lemon and water!!!

Good luck:D

Hey Fran does this raw food help stabalize your PMS levels??? What’s the difference between the vegetarian transition to this one???

#3 Fran on 01.20.10 at 4:19 pm

Olivia- oh those hairs aren’t staying there forever :) I’m just not bothering about it as much as I used to!

Angela- Possibly yes! I just had my cycle a week ago and I had NO PMS at all!!!!! I usually get a bad headache and sore breasts but I got none of that. And no cramps, nothing. I am also taking vitex though so that has likely helped a bit too :)

#6 Fran on 01.21.10 at 9:34 am

Chrissi- Yep that’s what it seems to do, make the spots heal faster!

Olivia- If MOOM sent me a sample I’d be happy too. I can’t find it in stores in Australia either :)

I dont think they have samples but… it’s just sugaring. i think that you can get a recipe for sugaring. just google it. or you can go on MOOM website and get the facial pack. But I think that the recipe would be better!!! so i am requesting a review on sugaring please. thanksss!!!

Hi, Fran. I want to say that I find you extremely inspiring. I started out by subscribing to your youtube channel. While I have some occasional spots, acne isn’t really a big problem for me, but I watched your videos anyway in order to learn a few things. Well, I have to say they have had a huge influence on me when it comes to eating. I am someone who loves junk food and soda, and seeing your videos has also led me to read shazzie’s blog and website and it’s just had a tremendous effect on me, I haven’t turned myself into a raw foodist or anything, but what I eat is changing so much!! There is no doubt that changing your diet takes a lot of researching and knowing what you’re doing, and it’s something I’m really working on at the moment.
I just wanted to say that I don’t entirely agree with you on working less- of course I think having time to relax is essential to having fresh ideas and being more awake, but I also think it is possible to manage stress as it is, even if there are a lot of stressors, the way we react to them can change. I know you weren’t trying to say that everyone should quit their job and take a pay cut, but I just wanted to say this because a lot of us are stuck in those office jobs and there is no alternative, and I think there still IS a way to be happy. For those who are in the same situation- I recommend looking into meditation.

Thank you Mariya, you are wonderful. And I appreciate the feedback about the stress stuff :)

Hi Fran,

As someone who is seeing your changes over the last 20 days, I want to say how lovely your energy is. You might feel spacey, but you look completely peaceful and joyous. I feel that you’re expressing yourself in a way that is true to your spirit, even though it might seem odd when you play it back on video. Once you finish going through this initial period of growth, the clarity and concise vibe will probably come back to you more easily so you can channel it when you want during recordings.

But I also hear ya about the vata body type – nuts & oils are great! I pointed my vata boyfriend to your video and he found it very helpful. He attended a Living Foods Institute raw detox, but went back to eating cooked & meat meals b/c he felt unhealthy after a while (I don’t think he built meals with proper nutrition). Now he knows how to better go about it and he’s giving vegan and mostly raw another shot. It’s funny, because I resisted the raw idea at first, but then I started on it around the time he stopped, and i kept going since. It turned me on to an entire universe of nutrition & health!

I’ve also noticed that raw food, meditation, yoga, and anything else that brings us more awareness can stir up energy – just like the emotions you experienced during your yoga class. It’s because we’re becoming more aware of certain things in ourselves/our environment, and so we’re more sensitive to it. It either creates a “spacey” feeling or a burst of emotions, until you release the energy. But as you know, the peace and happiness that comes after addressing the issue is so beautiful.

Sorry for this monologue – keep up the great work and high vibration! You’re such an inspiration!

Veronika, you are so beautiful, thank you for your comment. It also makes me feel even more motivated to create this ebook for raw food newbies that explains how to approach the raw food diet for different body types and constitutions. I guess that’s a big gap that’s missing in the movement. Big blessings to you!

OK it’s day 6 for me and i feel pretty damn awful i have a headache, a head cold, weird rash on my cheek which came up yesterday and i had an emotional breakdown at 4am this morning which was pretty awful. I must have a lot of stored toxins inside !

Congrats on sticking with the raw food diet. It must be great to say that it has been super easy. If I was to go 100% raw food I would not have a clue as to what to eat! I would have a few ideas but they wouldn’t last me too long :)

Of course, I could just research some recipes like I am sure you have done.

Quick question… about what percentage of your diet consisted of raw food prior to doing this 30 day raw food detox? And, what do you think that percentage will be after this detox?

Thanks!

-Todd

Hey Fran,

Quick question. I tried this raw food diet thing a couple of months ago. I only lasted about two weeks because I felt extremely weak on this diet, even though I felt that I was constantly eating. I would have three big main meals (usually fruit or green smoothie for bfast and snacks and mostly veggies for lunch/dinner) and always included avocado with veggie meals. Another problem I experienced on this diet (to my surprise… I thought it would have the opposite effect on me) was constipation. I normally go at least once a day and on the raw food diet I would go 3-4 days without having a bowel movement!

Anyway, since you’ve been at it for over 20 days and have done extensive research, I was wondering if you have experienced anything of the sort or have any recommendations/suggestions because I would really like to try this again in the spring time.

Thanks!

That’s a lot were u drinking lots of water??? A lot of fibre means drinking lots of water x

#16 Stephanie on 01.24.10 at 7:06 pm

Chrissi- yes! I drink at LEAST 6 cups a day, but usually more on my normal diet, so I definitely made sure to drink plenty on the raw food experiment.

The odd part is, I did this with my flatmate and she hardly drinks anything and she was in the bathroom more than usual. So I am thinking I have a sluggish system or something. Not sure how I can remedy it though…

#17 chrissi1981 on 01.24.10 at 7:30 pm

how strange ! I am not entirely sure then because it should have the opposite effect really it does with me hun. Sorry I can’t be much help x

Hi Fran. I have been reading your journey with interest and have been including lots more raw foods in my diet. I recently bought a book to read but it talks about ow certain foods can only be eaten with other types of food and not with others. It says fruit can’t be eaten with anything else, but I would miss my fruit, cacao and nut smoothies too much! Are you following these combinations or just eating raw food ‘normally’-any mixture you want? I’m just a bit confused :) as I would like to have a raw trial but don’t want to be confined to certain combinations. Many thanks for any input and I cannot wait to read your e-book!! :)

Stephanie – 6 cups may be very little – It doesn’t really matter how thirsty one feels, which may confusing a little bit. And of course there are other factors such as the time of the year, if where you live seasons do change… :-) If it’s hot, your body needs at least 2,5 litres, but probaly even more. Soup doesn’t count! If you drink coffee, it drains you of water again…
But don’t despair, there is one thing that helps even the worst cases (I am one): Drink a glass of WARM water with FRESH LEMON juice first thing in the morning (i.e. about one half of a medium sized lemon in 3 dcl of warm water, no sugar) – the effect is guaranteed!!!!
