Okay so I’m know I’m not perfect, I’m not enlightened or the Dalai Lama (there’s already one of those, and he’s doing a great job!). And I do experience things occasionally that weird me out or seem a bit extreme. I’ve always been super sensitive and super intuitive but after my sensitivities tripled plus over these last few months, I’m having to relearn how to protect my space and protect my energy. It’s all in the fun of 2012!
Oh, and I realise that I wasn’t very compassionate towards the drunk guy in my story.. so I’m sending him love and blessings now! More in the video…

[..YouTube..] I completely resonate with you Fran. The clarsentience in me has totally grown more sensitive and I at times feel like I’ve lost myself in others. Taking it as it comes, happy growing <3

I’d love it if you could do a video or two on “separating” your energy. I remember you made one a while ago but you’ve learned so much since being in Peru I’d love to hear some new insight on the topic. I’ve always felt incredibly intuitive and I am having such a difficult time with this being around my parents and their anxious energy. Also, don’t call yourself crazy! I feel “crazy” all the time because I know the majority of humans do not think the way you and I do. They are simply unfortunate to have no been awakened to what the universe has to offer. We’re the lucky ones. I have to remind myself that or else I end up feeling incredibly alone.

I feel the energy of people around me, too. It really affects me, especially when they are feeling anxious or angry. It’s hard to be around people sometimes because of that. I pick up good feelings a bit less, for some reason…

I’ve heard from the comedian and UFC commentator Joe Rogan that he feels overwhelmed by people energy living in a big city like Los Angeles. I think when you step closer to enlightenment there seems to be an increase in sensitivity in one way or another. On another note, I have been thinking lately about how avoidance can make me feel more anxious about something, Whether it be avoiding social situations because of social anxiety or avoiding life choices because I don’t feel like can overcome my problems. I know that it is better to “let go and flow” so to speak.

[..YouTube..] Love where these videos are heading, I feel like I’m experiencing many of the same things, especially the speeding up and intensity of my experiences.. The community that you’ve helped build to discuss these things is just lovely as many of us aren’t able to share our experiences with most people in our lives. Keep up the awesome work! :)

darl910- It’s actually in the free online course, that’s my current one… really it’s just jojoba oil and lavendar oil as a cleanser and moisturizer. Occasionally I throw in some oats as an exfoliant or do a clay mask for a treatment.
EmberflyLayouts – I’ll get there eventually! Hopefully it will look at least half as beautiful on camera.
Amanda- you’re awesome :) I’ll see what I can do about that video.
Mary- maybe because you’re so full of good feelings already ;)
B Slone- I’m not sure about enlightenment, I feel that we’re all on the same path at the same pace. I feel that’s in more the “lighter” our bodies are.. something is happening with this ascension process that is making us so much lighter. … I’m going to create a video some time that will help you a lot with that anxiety of yours.. I”ve been there so I know what you mean x

Dear Fran – thank you so much for these videos! I was really struck when you said that you saw balls of light as a child, cause I remember seeing them too. I remember holding one between my hands and feeling nauseous. My mum would run my hands under water to stop me from crying, cause I just didn’t understand (neither did she, of course!) Like many people who have responded here, I am also very sensitive person who picks up people’s energy quite easily and gets drained in big crowds. It is nice to hear that others have similar experiences. Blessings to you all!

Fran, thank you so much for your openness in sharing these experiences, I admire your honesty! I’ve enjoyed following your blog as I’m on a similar journey. I was a highly attuned and emotionally sensitive child who couldn’t even watch nature shows as I’d have such an overwhelming physical and emotional reaction to seeing animals hurt. I had to learn to control my reactions to the external world, but ended up shutting out my intuitive self for years, which I’m finally now working to reclaim.
I currently live in New York City, and as you can imagine it is extremely draining. I’m constantly bombarded by people’s energy fields and am so exhausted by it I need to spend a lot of time alone in my apartment. My coping mechanism with all this energetic overstimulation has been to pick at my skin for a purging and release so I temporarily feel better, but then my skin shows the effects! It would be interesting to go more into depth about how our energetic field functions and what are healthy ways to cleanse and purify it, as there are a lot of theories out there.
One of the best remedies I know of is to visit a beautiful, powerful natural place (I’m from Arizona), but being stuck in the city I don’t have access to that kind of environmental cleansing at the moment!

Hi Fran,
Sorry for leaving such a long comment on this blog post, but I can’t seem to figure out how to email this, anyway, I just want to sincerely thank you for all of your wonderful and uplifting advice about acne as well as overall health. Your blog and videos have definitely left me “high on health!” I am 18 years old and have been going through quite an experience with my acne. I had been previously been using a prescription cream which did make my skin appear acne free, however as opposed to chemicals as I am, I quit using them and felt that they were really only masking the problem. I decided to “fix” my skin using the oil cleansing method (ocm). I had the worst experience with the ocm! My skin absolutely exploded with the worst breakout of my life, but I thought my skin may just be purging itself and continued the ocm for months with no success, only worsening acne until I stumbled upon your videos on YouTube. I actually was familiar with your videos as I had previously watched your tutorial on using baking soda as deodorant a couple of years back. Your videos are super helpful and answered so many questions for me! My skin is so sensitive and I am now in the process of trying to heal it. I signed up for your free online mini-course and it is amazing and so informative! Thank you so much! I started only cleansing with honey, I did like the honey but my skin did not show much improvement, with my face still covered in acne. These past couple of weeks I have switched to only using jojoba oil and a little bit of lavender essential oil to cleanse and moisturize as suggested in the mini-course. Every morning when I wake up my skin does appear a little healthier, day by day. Dealing with this acne has taken a big shot to my self-esteem; I just started college and am living in the dorms, which has brought about so much emotional turmoil, which I think is making dealing with healing my skin all the more difficult and now I am definitely following your advice about emotional release. Now I have such high hopes with only using jojoba oil and will continue with this method. Your advice has made me take a look at my entire life and make so many positive changes! Without you I would have not gotten the guidance to look at myself as a holistic being and your videos and blog have made a huge impact in how I live my life. I cannot thank you enough! I will continue to follow your journey on your blog and wish you all the best! You are such a great resource and amazing inspiration!

This kind of sensitivity towards others has been called “psychometry”, though it’s not reading the energy remains from a physical object they’ve magnetized, but directly from the person.
Obviously, it varies from person to person. So, it seems that the degree of sensitivity relates to the state of “soul evolution”, where the individualized soul is on the “ladder,” if the term is allowed.
In my childhood and early adulthood, there was a similar experience — there were certain people who it was just too distressing to be around. So, my experience was not one of physical pain, but something like a noxious atmosphere that was emotionally distressing or oppressive. (Just confirming your experience as not unique.)
In my experience, the development of the individuality, the strength of that identity, is what permits the being to stand in the face of those energies. Of course, by “individuality”, this doesn’t imply the ego-identity which thinks of itself as “separate”, but let’s say the unique “soul” which has an individualized viewpoint in the universe/Cosmic One (even knowing that it is part thereof).
The current process of increasing sensitivity also appears to be a somewhat common at the present time. Like all of these common experiences (which seem really quite frequent of late), they seem to affect different persons to different degrees. At any rate, one friend made a FB post on 9 Oct asking about the “taking on the energy of people around.” Others chimed in.
My experience in the matter is somewhat similar to yours (I think), it began about mid-September, and was very strong. Even to the extent that the inner Observer felt something like being tossed into a churning ocean. Just waves of confused emotions coming from other individuals and groups. It was really challenging to separate from that and return to the steady Individualized point of observation. Just a matter of using past learnings of exerting the will to control of the energies which were within.
From the tradition I’ve followed, this sensitivity is what gives us the key to understanding of the hearts of others. If we can look at things impersonally, not become invested in the experience, but from a higher vantage, a somewhat impersonal viewpoint, it enables us to better serve others. That’s because we develop deeper understanding which leads to compassion, and thence to not trying to tell them what we want to say, but what they need to hear. Detachment is the key.
So, in my opinion, your focus on using the sensitivity for “cleansing” is profoundly important.
“The true student asks the other person’s soul how [s]he can help it, and the student’s own soul will transmit the message [returned]. Keep the mind calm, for this is the highest form of clairvoyance, and the confessional, if done impersonally, is a spiritual thing.”
