My Detoxing Experiements For Clearing Acne And Glowing Skin!

Ahh the things I do for High on Health. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been trying out detoxing and apart from the strange looks I’ve been getting from my friends, I feel great for it and I think my skin is looking pretty good too.

This week I’m doing my very first ever liver flush so wish me luck! Then I have my final colonic irrigation. I’m hoping I won’t have another healing crisis because I have a photoshoot next weekend that I want to look fabulous for.

I’ll give you a better outline of my detox plan after my final colonics this week, but for now the video pretty much gives away my experiences so far and how I’ve been feeling.

Where would one get a colonic irrigation? Doctor? Naturopath? No idea.

Hey Jasmine, I got mine done with a natural therapies practice that only does colonic irrigation. They were referred to me by a friend. Ask around or do a Google search :)

I think I need to do some colonic irrigation to help rebalance my hormones… Is it expensive…?

Gee Fran, not sure you should start a liver flush just before a photo shoot… Whenever I have done one my skin tends tend to have a meltdown initially!

Maybe leave it til next week and just ease yourself into it by starting this week by adding roasted dandelion tea/coffee substitute to your diet. I just started drinking this again a few weeks ago to help support my liver and it tastes remarkably like coffee, sweetened with stevia and a bit of almond milk, it’s a nice change to just herbal teas…

Yeah Kitty, I’m starting to think that. I might postpone the liver flush to AFTER the photo shoot!

Hey Fran
I too have been thinking seriously about starting a liver flush, do you know what kind of product you are going to be using? I have had a quick look and there is a lot of products on the market. I am currently having a cup of Dandelion tea each tea, easing my liver into it. I also agree with Kitty to start it after the photo shoot, who knows how your skin would react!

Hi Fran,

Congratulations on your success with the colonics! Did you know that you can actually do them yourself as an enema? Some people think this is better because it irritates the colon lining less. You can also use coffee in the enema to facilitate detoxification.

Nicola- I’ll let you know about it in my blog after I’ve done it! But the key is Epsom salts.

Hey Fran,
I really enjoyed your blog. I have tried everything. I do have a lot of candida from antibiotics. I was on a yeast kill. Steaming alot. Yeast free diet, and metal detox and chelation. Now a liver cleanse. I am breaking out even more since the two days of liver cleanse. Can you recommend a product?

Hi Robin, it’s normal to experience a breakout after a liver detox, it’s part of the cleansing process or “healing crisis” as the toxins come out. It should calm down after 1-4 weeks. Just be gentle and nurturing with your skin.

Hi, I also share your pain when it comes to the emotional effects of acne. I’ve always been a confident guy, but recently my acne has gone from barely noticable to WOAH! if you know what I mean. I find it hard have the same level of confidence when my face is broken out. I’ve tried tretinoin gel, bezoil peroxide, salistilic acid, but none of them have given me the results that I want. I was researching about vitamin b5, and I came across your video on youtube. Can you please give me some advice on how to use it properly? It would be greatly appereciated… Ohhh, and your skin looks pretty clear from what I see :]
