If you’re wondering what on earth a ‘hygiene floatation fluid spray’ is - it’s a fancy name for body deodorant.
I had a break from using baking soda as a deodorant for a few days to try out Dr. Mist, and I have to say, this product is a lot better than I thought it would be. It did everything it promised on the bottle, it was fragrance free (and made me fragrance free!), didn’t stain my clothes, was colorless on my underarms and non-oily. I used it when I went rollerblading (the hottest and sweatiest I get) and it didn’t make me smell at all. I’d even say that this product works better than both the crystal deodorants I’ve used and the baking-soda.
The active ingredients in Dr. Mist are potassium sulphate and sodium chloride. Potassium sulphate is a naturally occurring mineral salt and sodium chloride is your common table salt which a lot of people use in their food. Both substances are perfectly safe to use on the skin, especially when they’re used in such a small dose as with Dr. Mist.
You can also use Dr. Mist to treat a range of other ailments, which I find quite interesting when it’s just salt and water - but I believe them. I think their secret is using salt from the Dead Sea, which is very healing to the skin. Dr. Mist can also be used to:
- Helps prevent foot odor.
- Treats mosquito and insect bites, open wound, rashes, white spot, athlete foot, eczema and other skin ailments that causes itchiness. Spray directly on the affected area for speedy recovery.
- For Acne and Pimples - spray on the cotton and pat on the acne, apply twice daily. Result can be seen within 24 hours.
This is what Dr. Mist says about their product on their website:
“DR. Mist” utilizes just pure water, concentrated salt and minerals ala those found in the Dead Sea. This formulation uses the principle of Physics that resulted in a fluid spray that evaporates 0.4 times faster than ordinary water.
Once the fluid evaporates it leaves a thin layer or residue of very fine powder - a combination of salt and minerals on the skin. The fine powdery residue covers the epidermis and act as an effective bactericidal shield that effectively kills-off any bacteria living on or come into contact with the skin. The rationale is that without the presence of bacteria reacting on the sweat, there is therefore no unpleasant odor.
Because it is just water and mineral salts “DR. Mist”, unlike other conventional deodorizers, is non-greasy or gummy. Neither does it cause stain, irritation or toxicity.
It’s no surprise that Dr. Mist has won multiple awards, including the 29th Geneva International Invention And New Technique Of Switzerland Award which is quite prestigious because Inventors can only submit their inventions once in a lifetime, so to win first time submitted, especially in the medical category is impressive.
They have a great website too. I thought it was kind of amusing how I was spending so much time in there reading about the product and all the testimonials from people. There are actually people who have severe body odor problems who actually have a support group to help each other. I don’t know what’s worse, chronic body odor or acne …hmmm. Anyway, take a look for yourself, it’s kind of interesting.
It’s very difficult to find fault in this product. The only reason why I’ve given it 4.5 out of 5 stars is because you just can’t beat the cost of using baking-soda in comparison to all deodorants. Although Dr. Mist probably works a little better, the baking soda is more cost effective and better for those who suffer from a lot of skin allergies.
If you need a robust deodorant, or you think the baking-soda method is way too messy, then I’d definitely give Dr. Mist a try. In fact, I might recommend this product to my dad because he can get a little smelly when he’s working out. I may continue to use baking-soda on most days, but as soon as I do any sport or the day is a little warmer than usual, I’ll be relying on my friend Dr. Mist
If you want to purchase this product, you can do so directly from their website. They also offer free shipping and discounts if you buy at least 6 bottles of the product. Click here to go to the online store.
You’ve got no excuse for being smelly now!

This looks like a great product thanks for the review!! This is like a 5in1 product since it has many many uses. I may try it since my sister has real itchy skin/excema and it seems this may help her and if it doesnt Icould always use it as a deodarant!!
Great product! Just start using it, so far so good!
I purchased two bottles of this product based on several rave reveiws I’ve read on this and other forums. I’ve been using it as a deodorant for the past week. In terms of its effectiveness, hands down it surpasses any other deodorant or antiperspirant that I have used to date. I will definitely repurchase again!
