The problem with opening an online store is that I’m now collecting a lot products that I love and feel I can no longer live without. So you can just imagine next time I go traveling how big my cosmetics bag is going to be!
This Almond Rose Cleansing Scrub from Third Stone Botanicals is one of my new favorite products. I mix it in with my cleanser as an exfoliant. It’s all natural and full of loads of good stuff so I’m healing my skin while I’m exfoliating which is awesome.
I now sell this scrub in my online store, so you can get your own here. And of course in true style of my blog, here’s a video I recorded about it-
When I first used the scrub I tried mixing it with just water, but found it a little too drying on my skin. So I made a mix with my cleanser instead and then it was perfect. If you have oily skin then mixing it with water should be fine.
What I don’t like about this product is how I have to make a paste with water or cleanser before I use it (it comes in a powder form). I’m really lazy so I love to just grab a product while I’m in the shower. You can make the mix up while you’re in the shower (and err, yes I have done this before), but you absolutely don’t want to get any water in the jar because it will ruin the product for future use. Really, I just need to stop being so lazy.
What I love about this product is how it’s gentle enough to use every day as a cleansing scrub. Most scrubs and exfoliants are quite harsh so I wouldn’t normally use them more than 3 times a week, but this one is soft enough to use every day if you want to. And as I mentioned before, the healing ingredients are a huge bonus. It’s not often that I find a product that contains zeolite and brown rice flour!

Hi Fran, I really wanted to hear all about your new scrub, but have you added ‘music’ to your website because all I could hear was the music? lol
very lovely and tranquil music, I might add…
ps: I love watching your YouTube vids and that is actually how I stumbled upon your website a few months ago…
Also, I love your choice in music – all I listen to is DI.fm – but I listen to trance (sometimes some of the other genres), so I’ll apologise in advance… lol
That’s really strange Kitty, I don’t hear any music over the video!? Maybe check that no other browser windows are open.
Yeah DI.fm is awesome!!! I really only listen to the vocal trance station
hahaha…
I’m such an idiot! I actually did leave another window open – I think it was a link to some skincare that Kevin had posted in the forum… I got distracted because my cat was demanding attention! Well it was very soothing and tranquil music and it seemed to be good music to do yoga to so I figured it was coming from High on Health… lol
I’m not usually so blonde… (I can get away with saying that cos I’m actually blonde! lol )
So I’ll watch your vid again now! The ingredients in the scrub sound great – I can see why you like it…
Yeah, I love some good vocal trance too. I prob listen to 70% trance, 20% vocal trance, 10% dance…
It looks good enough to eat.
Cool, fellow DI.fm lovers. I love techno, eurodance, dance and electronica. You guys should check out the band called Royksopp if you have similar preference as me.I always have it on the lounge station though for some reason, love the eurodance station as well
Anyway, I’ve always heard that almonds and walnuts are highly comedogenic to the skin.Is this an old myth?
Kevin, nuts are very difficult for the body to digest without pre soaking them first, preferably overnight so this could be the reason why they say they’re comedogenic.
Maybe Google it?
Hey Fran! I was just wondering what your take on the aspirin mask was?
Btw, I just wanted to share a mask I love to do. Just mix up some honey, lemon juice and tea granules from the tea bag of a green tea. It always makes my skin so smooth after!:D
This might be a stupid question, but are you supposed to soak the nuts with or without their shell? Also, does that make them soggy?
Hey Fran, thanks for that, I was actually looking for a new exfoliater.
Also, I just wanted to ask what your views are on the ‘La Mer’ moisturisers. They are VERY expensive but claim to have some miracle healing ingredients that was created by a NASA rocket scientist (Dr Max Huber).
I checked on MUA and there are some great reviews on there, although it does contain mineral oil and some people broke out from it.
Lynn- Check out this article – http://www.highonhealth.org/aspirin-masks-to-help-reduce-acne-redness-and-inflammation/
Kyle- Without the shell and yes it does make them soggy. If you have a dehydrator you can use that to dry them (which is best), otherwise the oven on a very low setting is okay. Or sun dry them!
Seema- wow NASA rocket scientist? Sometimes these things are made out to be more complicated than they actually are! I’ve never actually heard of that brand.
Your skin looks great in the video Fran! Are you wearing any particular brand of makeup?
The scrub sounds great but I think you haven’t listed the size of the product in your shop. That would be helpful
Seema – I have heard of that brand and heard lots of bad reviews about it… apparently it’s just a very overrated face cream, made popular by celebrities like Jennifer Lopez who just like it because it is so expensive. I think you could find much better natural moisturizers. Mineral oil is really not good for acne!
Thanks for that Ana, I think I’ll just stick to Bee Yummy!
Thanks Ana! No makeup in this video, only mascara. I only wear mineral makeup now when I’m going out.
Sorry for not listing the size, I’m adding it in now, it’s 30g ..but it’s a powder so the jar is about the same size as the Bee Yummy jar.
hey fran,
just wanted to say thanks for the great and always helpful videos. I think you are looking great these days! Have you tried the green eye and lip cream that bee yummy makes? I love using it around my eye area before bedtime. Its a little too greasy to use during the day but at night it soaks in great and is good for softening eye lines! Its awesome! Thanks for everything!
Can you find this stuff in England? Like I said I’m only 10 and I don’t have a credit card to buy from the online store. And my parents don’t really buy too much stuff online. Which products are good in England. I would choose these things myself but I tried something that looked really natural and good but it didn’t find the ingredients that were cleverly hidden inside of the box. Plz help!
