The Best Moisturizer For Acne Prone Skin? - Bee Yummy Skinfood™

Bee Yummy SkinfoodI’ve been searching for a very, very long time to find the perfect natural moisturizer. A product that is 100% natural, 100% organic, moisturizing without being oily, able to improve the quality of my skin, and of course (and most importantly) - will not clog my pores or give me a break out.

Well, I’m very excited to tell you that I finally found one!!

I was first referred to Bee Yummy Skin Food by a friend of mine in London. I was getting into the habit of asking all the healthiest and most alternative people I know what they use on their skin and what they recommend.

My friend told me about a small business in New York City called Live-Live that makes their own skin care products, and of course she raved about how fantastic they were. I couldn’t believe my luck with the timing, because I was just about to head off on a trip to New York City for my first time ever.

I contacted Christopher, the owner of Live-Live, and arranged to meet him in New York to trial his products. I actually had arranged to visit his store towards the end of my trip, but accidentally stumbled past his shop when I was on my way to a raw food restaurant in lower Manhattan. It was one of those synchronicities where you know you’re onto a good thing. The raw food restaurant was right next door to Live-Live. What are the chances of that?

So What Exactly Is Bee Yummy Skin Food?

Before my trip to New York I’d heard so many amazing testimonials from people that had used Bee Yummy, so of course I was very excited about trailing the product. What I was most excited about, was the fact that the majority of these testimonials were from acne sufferers who had experienced amazing results from using Bee Yummy. From completely clearing up their cystic acne to fading their acne hyperpigmentation scars.

Here’s what some of the people who use the product were saying -

I just wanted to let you know that i can attest first hand that Bee Yummy Skin Food™ truly works and does exactly what it claims.

I have been having a recent battle with a sudden onset of adult cystic acne and I was desperate to try anything. I applied Bee Yummy the night i got my sample and when i woke up the next day what i saw and witnessed was amazing!! The flare ups had gone down, the redness seemed to almost disappear and it even helped to bring one to the surface which erupted and healed within a couple days time.

My young son had actually burned himself the day before i got my sample and i had been applying Neosporin (which didn’t help) he was in slight pain. I applied Bee Yummy three times a day and it scabbed nicely and he almost forgot about his burn. He said “mom it doesn’t burn or itch anymore - what is the stuff you put on me?”

I thought I would share my thoughts and my actual experience - it is all true and I believe in the power of this product.

Darlene Morales, CA

I have finished my first jar of Bee Yummy Skinfood™ and i just wanted to thank whoever created this cream. I have had acne for as long as i can remember, but lately my skin was drying out and the acne was worsening. I tried everything…… and not conventional products. Products like Jurlique, Aveda, Dr. Haushka and Aubrey. I still love their products, but none of the other things I tried compare to the Bee Yummy cream. It instantly relieved the dry, scaly flakes and helped with my daily inflammation. My skin is not completely clear (yet!). But it has incredibly improved and is totally blemish free - something i did not think would ever happen. I know this sounds like a commercial….sorry! I just wanted to say thank you, and i can’t wait to try your other products. I’m hoping they’re all oil free and raw.

Melinda Wright

Bee Yummy also has amazing reviews on my favorite cosmetics review site - makeupalley.com (MUA), with a total score of 4.8 out of 5 and 100% of buyers saying they’d buy it again.

So of course as soon as I bought Bee Yummy, I tossed my old moisturizer out (that wasn’t working well with my skin anyway) and started using Bee Yummy.

For the first five days or so, my skin went through some kind of transition period and I wasn’t too sure if the product was right for me. I was disappointed to find two pimples that must have been hiding under my skin rise to the surface, and the moisturizer just didn’t feel like it was moisturizing my dry skin enough. I started to think that perhaps this product was best suited for oily skin types only.

And then after the fifth day everything changed.

My skin started to become softer, more hydrated, and it even glowed! My pimples that surfaced never came to a head and just healed over very quickly. And to this day I have not had a single spot of acne since I’ve been using this product.

Last night I stayed in a sketchy hotel in Kingston, Canada, while my travel buddy visited his cousin. The hotel bathroom had the worst lighting possible. It was that blaring kind of UV light you normally only see in convenience stores. Well, the lightening was ghastly enough for me to see my skin and pores up extremely close. And for the first time ever I didn’t feel like squinting my eyes when I looked in the mirror so I couldn’t really see my skin. I have not seen my skin look this good in years. My pores look smaller and cleaner than they ever have, and my skin tone is really evening out.

Why Bee Yummy Is So Great

I’ve tried many natural moisturizes in the past with just average results. Most natural skin care products are made up of mostly essential oils, which tend to be too harsh on acne-prone skin. Any oil based moisturizer that I use is almost guaranteed to clog my pores, and give me cosmetic acne a couple of months into using the product.

What’s so great about Bee Yummy is that it’s different to everything else I’ve used. It’s a natural product that is not made up of solely essential oils. In fact, Bee Yummy only contains eight ingredients, and half of these are honey products.

This explains why Bee Yummy works so well on acne and acne-prone skin. Honey is a natural anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral, so it’s fantastic to use on the skin.

bee on a flower

Bee Yummy contains wildflower honey, honey cappings, bee pollen and propolis all from the same aviary of bees. By applying these honey products and the St. John’s Wort and Royal Jelly onto the skin, you’re in fact providing your skin with over 176 nutrients, at least 27 minerals, 22 amino acids, 105 live enzymes & co-enzymes, hormones, antioxidants, bioflavonoids, and pigments (and yes, I took that info from the packaging).

All the ingredients are easily absorbed into the skin. How many other face creams can say that? It’s no wonder that Bee Yummy has proven to do such an amazing job at helping to heal acne, hyperpigmentation and acne-prone skin.

Who Should Use Bee Yummy Moisturizer?

Bee Yummy is great for all skin types which is extremely rare for a moisturizer.

After application, Bee Yummy is easily and quickly absorbed into the skin without leaving your face oily or dry. It seems to work beautifully to help balance out the natural oil levels of your own skin.

In the first few days of using Bee Yummy, dry skin types may find their skin feels a little too dry, but as your skin heals and repairs and gets back to its natural state, this dryness will go and you’ll be left with soft and hydrated skin.

If you’re been using drying medicated skin products like benzoyl peroxide, Differin, accutane or topical antibiotics, then you’ll find Bee Yummy to be the perfect healing lotion for your dry skin.

The raw, organic ingredients will work to support the healing process and hydration of your skin. Bee Yummy is also the most gentle product that I’ve found, so perfect for the sensitivity of skin while using medicated acne pills and lotions.

Wait - This Sounds A Little Too Good To Be True

I realize after reading back over this review that I may sound overly positive about this product, so let me point out some things that I wasn’t too happy about.

First, it doesn’t smell that great. I know it contains Balsam Fir Needles for fragrance but personally I don’t like the smell, which kind of reminds me of visiting my Chinese Herbalist.

I also don’t love the packaging. It’s okay, but the label runs when it gets wet ..which is a little strange for a cosmetic product. I want to try using Bee Yummy as a cleanser as well, which means the label is going to run everywhere if I take it in the shower. I’ll have to be careful about that.

And I’ve only been using this product for about three weeks so I have not given it an adequate test over a long period of time.

Do You Want To Try Bee Yummy?

Because I love this moisturizer so much and because it’s been so amazing for my skin, I wanted to make it easily available to you here on my blog. So you can now buy Bee Yummy directly from High on Health.

Wow Fran! Thanks for selling and introducing Bee Yummy to us. Too bad their website does not ship to Toronto =( So i’m hopefully gonna buy it here, would shipping be cheaper if I’m in Toronto? Hehehe…
Also, about vitamin B5 (on your previous article) - I can’t seem to find it in drug stores (ShoppersDrugMart), is it only available online?

#2 kevin on 09.20.08 at 10:01 pm

Sounds really promising. What’s really amazing is that its for all skin types.

#3 Fran on 09.21.08 at 12:25 am

Hi Renee, I’ve seen pantothenic acid or B5 in the two Canadian health stores that I’ve looked in (Montreal and Kingston). You’re better off looking in a health store than a drugmart.

#4 Christiana on 09.21.08 at 1:25 am

This sounds absolutely amazing … I have just ordered my own pot from a company here in the UK so I will keep everyone posted on how well it works for me … I can’t wait to get my hands on it !!!

#5 Jill on 09.21.08 at 2:24 am

Hello Fran!
Wow what a great review. I’m so tempted to buy this stuff because my cystic acne/scar plagued skin is slow to heal despite eating healthy and drinking lots of water and supplements. But I’m iffy about all the honey products. I’m vegan, but don’t like the taste of honey anyway so never gave it much thought, but honey production can be quite controversial. I’m happy it is organic, however bees only make a small amount of royal jelly which contains hormones for the female bee to become a queen. I know people will probably think I’m crazy because they’re ‘only’ insects, but I wonder how this production affects the health of the bee colony. Did you talk to the owner about that at all? Thanks Fran, this is one tempting moisturizer.

#6 Laila on 09.21.08 at 2:31 am

I live in NYC! Where exactly is the store located?

Thanks for the review I too have been looking for an organic moisturizer :D

#7 Fran on 09.21.08 at 2:42 am

Laila- the store is at 261 East 10th Street. There’s a lot of very tempting stuff in there to buy so have fun with it. Let them know how you found about about the store :P

Jill- I don’t think you’re crazy at all. I think you have a very big heart and actually ..I feel kind of bad for not thinking about the bees too! I didn’t inquire about the health of the bees, because I got a really good vibe from the store and I’m pretty sure they’re all raw vegans in there. However, if you want to contact them directly to ask, here is their email - info@live-live.com

#8 Laila on 09.21.08 at 3:06 am

Thanks Fran! I’ll defiantly let them know how I found the store :D

#9 Jon on 09.21.08 at 4:25 am

Fran
How long does one jar of this stuff last? It says 2-3 times daily usage thats a lot of usage.

I’m not like the packaging of this as its in a open lid jar and you dip your hands in isnt this just gonna be bacterial? I would much prefer a pump size bottle or a tube where you squeeze for it to come out. I would love to try this but its a bit too overpriced for me!

#10 Fran on 09.21.08 at 4:28 am

Jon- I just use it twice a day after I cleanse my face and it seems to be enough. I don’t know why they say 2-3 times.

Yeah the packaging isn’t very good quality, but the honey products are such a strong anti-bacterial that there’s no way any bacteria could survive in there. I also make sure my hands are clean before I use it :)

Actually, I used my Dove moisturizer in a pot like this too and it wasn’t a problem.

#11 Jill on 09.21.08 at 6:05 am

Thanks Fran, I’ll send them an email. On makeupalley someone said you can get a free sample? I’d go for that first before buying a whole jar. Also, how is this moisturizer under makeup?

#12 Eden on 09.21.08 at 7:38 am

Hey Fran, this looks like a great product. I was thinking of using it along with the Purity Made Simple cleanser. Does this sound like a good idea? I have been using Proactiv and other 3-step systems for awhile now but it’s as if my skin becomes immune to them after awhile. They don’t exactly make my acne worse, but they don’t make it better either so I was thinking about switching to more natural products. What do you think?

#13 Suzy on 09.21.08 at 9:37 am

Sounds like great stuff :) Shame I’m deathly allergic to honey and other “bee” derived products :(

But it’s fantastic that it is working for you, that’s really amazing!!

#14 Tiffany on 09.21.08 at 10:12 am

Fran, Thank you for letting us know about this product, I ordered one of your 15 jars just now and look forward to trying it out.

Have you found an all natural, organic face wash that you would reccomend that you like better the Miessence?

#15 Fran on 09.21.08 at 10:50 am

Eden- Yep, great combo, that’s exactly what I’ve been using. Although, you can use all moisturizers as cleansers as well, especially this one because of its anti-bacterial properties. So I’m going to try Bee Yummy as my next cleanser!

Tiffany- I’ll try using the Bee Yummy as a cleanser as well and let you know how that goes.

#16 kevin on 09.21.08 at 11:08 am

Hey Fran, could this be used as a spot treatment as well?

#17 Fran on 09.21.08 at 11:12 am

You know what Kevin, it’s funny you asked that because I’ve just come back from a few days away in Montreal. I didn’t take any spot treatments with me because my skin was doing so well. I woke up one morning with a red mark on my nose that I was worried would turn into a pimple, so I dabbed a bit of the Bee Yummy on the spot that night and even though it took about 3 days to fade, it never turned into a pimple.

I guess because it’s anti-bacterial it could be used as a spot treatment :) And mixed with a bit of white or green clay, and left on a spot overnight ..it’d be awesome.

#18 david on 09.21.08 at 12:31 pm

hey sounds amazing….. but what about sun protection?
am going to have to put a sunblock over the cream?

#19 Fran on 09.21.08 at 1:16 pm

Hi David, Bee Yummy isn’t a sunscreen as well so if you’re going out in the sun you’ll need to wear a sunblock as well :)

#20 Ana on 09.21.08 at 1:38 pm

Jon - you can also get a little spatula to use so you don’t have to dip your fingers into the jar. If you go to Bath & Body Works they have a bunch there for sampling cosmetic products, I’m sure you could just take one since people who use them just throw them in the garbage afterward, so you can just take a clean one and keep it!

Thanks so much for telling us about this Fran. I’ve been meaning to try a new face cream, more of a night/treatment cream lately, and I think this sounds great!

Also on their website it says you can call for a free sample of the cream! I think I’ll do that first since it’s a bit pricey. You can find the number on the site, or it’s also on one of the MUA reviews in the link Fran posted.

#21 zack on 09.21.08 at 6:23 pm

Wow Cant wait to try this moisturizer! anyway Fran have you found your HG sunscreen yet?

#22 Michelle on 09.22.08 at 1:47 am

Thanks for the review!

Do you know if they sell this in Canada?

#23 Fran on 09.22.08 at 1:51 am

Zack- Nope, I think that will be the toughest thing to find.

Michelle- I’m almost certain the only place they sell this in a physical store is in NYC, everywhere else is online :)

#24 courtney on 09.22.08 at 5:04 am

after reading this, i called for a free sample!
i am very excited. I also asked if it worked on oily skin and acne, since mose creams leave me more oily.
but currently, my skin feels dry and tight after i wash my face. it is like flaky. im not sure if it’s because i exfoliate, or my routine is too aggresive for it.
hopefully the cream will help .
cross my fingers!

#25 Ana on 09.22.08 at 12:21 pm

I just called for a sample. They were very friendly :) Hopefully it gets shipped soon. I was going to just order it without sampling since I’m so excited to try it, but with all the expensive products I’ve been buying lately that turn out to be wrong for me, I figured I should take advantage of the sample :)

#26 Mandeep on 09.22.08 at 1:51 pm

Hi Fran, your review looks great, however i was wondering about the other two moisturizers that you had bought few weeks ago from Dr.Haushaka and whether they worked for you or not??

#27 Taia on 09.22.08 at 5:36 pm

Hi Fran and greetings from Russia =)
I’m heading off to NYC in less than a month and now I’m definitely gonna include a visit to this store on my agenda!
Thanks so much for the tip!

#28 Lynn on 09.22.08 at 10:03 pm

Hi Fran, great review!

In one of your earlier posts you wrote that you avoid using cleansers that contain salicylic acid on a daily basis as our skin will get used to it and immune to the effects after a while. I was wondering if its the same case with honey? I like to put a mixture of honey and olive oil on my face after cleansing and let it sit a while before I rinse it off. It really makes my skin glow, and I LOVE the benefits of the honey. I want to use this everyday but was wondering if my skin would become immune to it after a while? By the way, this has helped my acne clear up and moisturize it really well:D

#29 Fran on 09.23.08 at 1:00 am

Mandeep- Oh, I might write about my experience with the Dr. Haushaka moisturizer. My skin didn’t like it at all. It actually made my face a little irritated and red, and I got a small breakout.

Lynn- Salicylic acid forces your skin to do an unnatural function - exfoliating in a different way that it naturally does. Honey is not like that. It works by providing your skin with nutrients and hydration, and it acts as a natural anti-bacterial. So go for it, use your mask every day :)

#30 Jimmy on 09.23.08 at 3:17 am

May I ask how long this 2 oz. jar will last?

#31 Fran on 09.23.08 at 4:24 am

Jimmy- I can’t say for certain because mine isn’t finished yet! But I’ve been using it for almost a month now and I’m almost 1/3 of the way through …so I’d say one jar probably lasts about 3 months.

#32 agnei on 09.23.08 at 4:53 am

oh, I can’t wait, I’m sure I should try it. I would like to buy it from your site, Fran, as I live in Poland and have no chance to find it here, but I’m not sure if it’s still available when i get my money (probably tomorrow).
I’m also very curious about the pantothenic acid curation, i’m gonna do some research about it. thanks!

#33 Fran on 09.23.08 at 4:57 am

Agnei- I now have heaps more in stock so don’t worry, it will definitely still be available tomorrow :)

#34 Jorge on 09.23.08 at 6:18 am

Dear Fran,
i’v been suffering with acne since i was 10 and i am now 18, i was prescribed last year a cream that i thought would solve my problembs and that was RETIN-A micro, it did get rid of my acne but my face is sensitive to the sun and also my face gets really oily and i get whiteheads that lead to pimples and i have tried your baking soda method and it is working. but i have enlarged pores on my nose and they dont go away white heads build in those holes and when i push then out im left with holes. my skin is dry ant night when i wake in the morning i look horrrible. i play football and that dosent cause me to break out it just gives me white heads in some little places. my question to you fran is, will the BEE YUMMY SKIN FOOD be right for me?? should i really get it because of my dry but sometimes oily skin?? will it get rid of whiteheads?? and will it get rid of those annoying enlarged pores?? i am willing to pay if it will work. and i trust you because what you say is true and thats good enought.

#35 Fran on 09.23.08 at 7:13 am

Hi Jorge, when I first used Bee Yummy I didn’t think it would help improve the quality of my pores, but it has. I haven’t needed to use my salicylic acid product AT ALL since I’ve been using Bee Yummy. So my answer to you is yet - it’s likely that Bee Yummy will help your skin a lot. It will also help your skin become hydrated, so you don’t have that dry skin.

When you first start to use it, like me you may have a transition period for a few days where your skin doesn’t feel that great. Just give it a week, and then you should notice a big difference. If your pores and whiteheads should improve by about 3-4 weeks of use.

drear fran,

#45 Fran on 09.24.08 at 5:56 am

Lux- give them a call and ask

Johan- Yes, I ship internationally

Jorge- Orders are sent out each day. It depends on where in the world you live …I think the longest it can take is 10 days, give or take. I’m sure you’ll receive it soon :)

#46 Johan on 09.24.08 at 6:24 am

Thanks Fran :)

But my question was more if the company who make the product also ship world wide?! Or will you take home more and take care of that part? :) I mean if the product works and I wanna buy more. Should I contact you then? I live in Sweden :)
Thanks

#47 Fran on 09.24.08 at 6:27 am

Oh sorry Johan. I work directly with the company now, I send all orders directly to them each day for shipment. So you can send all orders through me if you want. They do ship internationally, but if there’s a problem I’ll make sure it gets to you somehow :)

I’ll also be updating my shop page with some more Live-Live products soon.

#48 Johan on 09.24.08 at 6:33 am

Thanks :) It´s sounds very good!

#49 Samantha on 09.24.08 at 8:57 am

Hey Fran,

This stuff sounds amazing! I am definitely going to be ordering some very soon. I was just curious though, what do you think would make a good cleanser to go along with this moisturizer? Does the company have something that perhaps goes along with this stuff? Thanks!

#50 Veronika on 09.24.08 at 9:26 am

Hey Fran!
Just saw your video on youtube…
My skin has been just bad lately and it’s driving me insane.
After seeing how excited you were about the product, I went ahead and just bought it because I’m just very annoyed with my skin at the moment, and this seems like it will help a lot. =)
I will make sure to post back once I receive it and let you all know how it works out for me.

#51 Ana on 09.24.08 at 12:18 pm

Fran, do you have any idea how long the company is taking to ship out samples? Is there any way you could find out for us? I called and requested a sample, but if it’s going to take a long time to ship I would rather just buy the full-size now.

Thanks :)

#52 Mason on 09.24.08 at 2:02 pm

Hey, Fran!
I was wondering where you could find the Bee Yummy cleanser? I looked online but didn’t have any luck.

#53 Fran on 09.24.08 at 2:47 pm

Samantha- There is no cleanser from Live Live. You can use any moisturizer as a cleanser, especially a natural anti-bacterial like this ..so you could try using the Bee Yummy as a cleanser. I’ve been using Philosophies Purity Made Simple (which I love), but it’s not a natural product. I actually just ran out so next time I wash my face I’m going to try the Bee Yummy. Not sure how it will go though. I may be tempted to stock up on my Purity Made Simple until I find a good natural cleanser.

Ana- Sorry, I don’t know how long it takes for them to send samples. But I’m sure it’ll get there soon, they’re super helpful in store.

#54 Jon on 09.25.08 at 4:58 am

Fran If i order this now will it be coming from USA or within Toronto Canada?

#55 Fran on 09.25.08 at 5:00 am

From New York, USA.

#56 Adriana on 09.25.08 at 1:11 pm

is there anything you could add to this product (like a powder) to give it a natural sunscreen property?

currently i use a juice organics moisturizer with sunscreen (which i’m looking to change) it seems like it’d be too heavy to use both under my makeup since the juice organics gives my skin a bit of an oily look anyway (even under my mineral powder!)

since i have mild to moderate acne, use benzol peroxide, and bicycle ride daily i really need a preferably natural, healing, mosturizer/sunscreen.
any suggestions will help!
-thanks

#57 jorge on 09.25.08 at 4:17 pm

I live in California how long do you think it will take fran????????

#59 Orawan on 09.25.08 at 11:25 pm

hi fran, i heard that trilogy cleanser is pretty good. Check it out at MUA there are some reviews on it. I think its all organic too!

#60 Chrissi on 09.26.08 at 3:04 am

Hi !

I got my pot yesterday and I have to say it is absolutely fantastic !! it certainly is already helping my breakout that I had on my forehead over the weekend which I presume was related to how sick I got … so I am really really really chuffed !! LOl lol lol THANKS SOOO MUCH FRAN but hey there is still time for it to purge so we shall see ! But hopefully not as I its my birthday soon and I am off on a late summer vacation wahooooooooo !!! THANKS A MILLON !!

#61 courtney on 09.26.08 at 9:39 am

as i have said earlier, i already ordered a sample, which i am VERY excited to get. currently, the weather is warm in the mornings, but gets hotter during the day,
will the heat affect the moisterizer, since they are shipping it to me ?

#62 Ana on 09.26.08 at 10:51 am

Courtney - the site says the cream can’t go bad since honey is one of the few foods that lasts forever.

I imagine it might melt a bit if it’s really hot, but you can just put it in the fridge (I’ve had this happen with other creams). The important thing is that it won’t go bad!

#63 Samantha on 09.26.08 at 11:10 am

Hey Fran!
I was looking at the live-live website and I noticed they have tons of other products. Do you think they have anything else that may help acne, internally or externally? I was just curious, since their moisturizer appears to be of such great quality, perhaps their other stuff is just as good? I remembered you mentioning something about putting more of their products on this site so I was just wondering if there was anything else you came across. I was also reading about their bentenite clay. I think I spelled that wrong, but they mentioned something about that helping acne if you use it on your face. Anyway, thanks again for finding this moisturizer! I am so happy that I found your website!! :-)

#64 Anne on 09.26.08 at 11:39 am

Hi Fran! I am so tempted to get this moisturizer! I think I am going to get it tomorrow. :D I have a question though, in your video you mentioned that there was a five day transition your face went through possibly because of the salicylic acid you used in your previous products. I have been using Ambi’s cleanser and there is salicylic acid in there. When I start using bee yummy’s moisturizer, do you think I should stop using the salicylic acid cleanser? Thanks! I love all your videos and your blog! You are so insightful.

Is Bee Yummy a sticky cream (beacause of the honey)??

#66 Fran on 09.27.08 at 1:25 am

Adriana- I still prefer using mineral makeup as a light sunscreen. It’s a powder so it sits nicely on my skin. Otherwise you can buy sunscreen powders with a higher SPF ..although they’re not natural. You can buy them from Sephora.

Jorge- Shipments are from NYC, so it won’t take long to get to California!

Samantha- I actually have the Live-Live facelift mask too but haven’t tried it yet, if it’s good I’ll put that up too. I’d like to put a ‘real’ shopping cart up and extend it with more products that help the skin (like clay), and of course healthy yummy chocolates ..so that’s something that is likely to appear later in High on Health.

Anne- I think using the salicylic acid cleanser is fine. I just found that when I started using Bee Yummy I didn’t need to use the salicylic product anymore (so far). It’s good to start things slowly, so begin with the moisturizer, then see how that goes first, then make a decision after a couple of weeks to see if you’d like to stick with the cleanser.

Butteryfly- I thought it would be sticky! But actually it’s not. It’s creamy just like any other moisturizer :)

#67 Stacy on 09.27.08 at 3:34 am

Hey Fran, I’m somewhat new to your site :) I just ordered this moisturizer and I’m super excited. I also use paula’s choice bha and then a benzoyl peroxide treatment. Should I apply the moisturizer before or after those steps?

#68 Fran on 09.27.08 at 5:28 am

Hi Stacy, whatever order works for you. I don’t think there’s a right way here :)

#69 Tiffany on 09.27.08 at 2:14 pm

Orawan, Do you know where I can find Trilogy cleanser, would you have a link to there website or a link to an online store that sells it?

#70 Tiffany on 09.27.08 at 2:36 pm

Stacy,
I would suggest applying the bee yummy moisturizer after the paula’s choice bha. if you always follow the paula’s choice bha with BP treatment then either before the BP treatment or after. I guess it depends on if you use the BP treatment as a spot treatment or you apply it all over your face. If you apply it all over your face then you could use the Bee Yummy before or after the treatment, however if you use the BP as a spot treatment I would use the bee yummy before the BP treatment. I have personally found that with my skin if I moisturize after I use BP for a spot treatment the BP gets spread all over my face anyway because it gets rehydrated and the residue left on the skin gets spread with the moisturizer. I have also found that with my skin personally it is better for me to apply any BP treatment after I moisturize because my skin will absorb the treatment. Since bee yummy is an anti bacterial already, you may want to be careful to not over treat your skin it may become too dry or irritated, maybe once you get the bee yummy just use your regular cleansing followed by paula’s choice bha, then the bee yummy and leave out the BP treatment, or just use the BP treatment as a spot treatment. I have made many mistakes over treating my skin and its not pretty when I do.
Hope this helps. :)

#71 Orawan on 09.27.08 at 7:53 pm

Tiffany- i live in oz so i bought it at a store in Bondi, if your in sydney, australia. So im not quite sure where u would find it. Try googling it and see if any of those sites ship to where you live. Hope u find success :)

Fran- i was just wondering if putting honey on my skin everynight would kinda do the same job as the bee yummy moisturiser as i am not going to get it in like three weeks?? thanks franN!!

#72 Tiffany on 09.28.08 at 4:01 pm

I was unsure where to post this, but I found a website where you can look up ingredients in skin care/beauty products. I hope this is helpful to everyone.

#73 Rony on 09.28.08 at 10:52 pm

hey Fran,
this might not conform to the purpose of the comments section, but i was wondering how long it takes for the order of bee yummy to arrive in Aus after payment?

#74 Kamilla R. on 09.28.08 at 11:21 pm

Hi Fran

First of all thank you so much for having made this awesome webside which I found a month or two ago and have been using a lot since then.

I am thinking about buying the Bee Yummy Skin Food cream, I’m just wondering if I can start with ordering a free sample or is it something I can’t do from your website?

I live in Denmark so I guess ordering the product from you is the only way I can even try this cream, so I am very thankful for that possibility anyway.

Thanks
Kind regards
Kamilla

#75 Laila on 09.29.08 at 7:14 am

My mom went to the store…I believe last week to get me two samples of it [they were sold out of the small size lol] so I’ve been using it and it feels great on my skin. But I’ve noticed I’ve been breaking out more.

Is that the Bee Yummy working to clear my skin…or is it not the best moisturizer for me?

#76 Fran on 09.29.08 at 10:08 am

Orawan- honey is still good to apply to your skin as a mask, but it’s very sticky! The Bee Yummy moisturizer is better because it contains additional healing ingredients, and it’s not sticky. But in the meantime you could try using a mask of manuka honey :)

Rony- All orders should take 6-10 days to ship.

Kamilla- You could try phoning them and asking for a sample. But I don’t know if they post free samples outside of the U.S because postage costs are so high. Or they may just charge you for the postage fees.

Laila- I experienced a small purge in the first week of using it, so it could just be that stage. There is nothing in the cream that will cause a pimple (there are no comedogenic ingredients and it’s a good anti-bacterial), so it’s likely your skin is purging a little as stuff is brought to the surface. Give it another week or two to see how it goes. Send me a message in the forum if it gets really bad.

#77 Tiffany on 10.01.08 at 7:17 am

A lot of you folks are asking how long Bee yummy will take to arrive. I hope this helps. I ordered Bee Yummy on 09/21 (Sunday), I got it today 09/30 (Tuesday). This is shipping in the USA. Not sure how long it takes for international delivery.

BTW I am supper excited to try this great find! thanks Fran!

#78 Jimmy on 10.01.08 at 1:08 pm

I have received this moisturizer in the mail today and once I tried it out, I noticed this moisturizer doesn’t make my face feel sticky, which is good because I have oily skin. Well hopefully this product will work well on me. Thanks Fran for your recommendation.

#79 Kamilla R. on 10.02.08 at 2:03 am

Hi Fran

Thanks for your reply. I am pretty sure that I am going to buy the Bee Yummy Skin Food and I am just a little curious about how your skin is doing now that you have tried for a month or more now? Is I still doing a great job or has there been any changes since you posted your last video?

Hope you are still very happy with it :)

#80 Fran on 10.02.08 at 4:28 am

Kamilla- Good question. I had a few days with insomnia (one night I was even still awake at 7am in the morning!) And I was traveling and not eating very well - so my skin suffered a lot. I ended up with 2 spots that looked like pimples coming up and my forehead went blotchy. So I used my salicylic acid product, followed by Bee Yummy, then a spot treatment (and finally started sleeping and eating well), and by the next day both spots were gone and my forehead was looking a lot better. So yeah, I guess it’s still my fav moisturizer :)

#81 kevin on 10.02.08 at 6:58 am

Hey Fran,

I’m just curious as to what spot treatment you used? And btw, did you ever cleanse yet with the moisteriser?

#82 teen skin on 10.02.08 at 8:57 am

hi fran,
i am only 13 years old, do you think this moisturizer would be good for my oily teen skin?

oh and i have some forming pimples on my cheek, there red and they’ve been there for nearly a week what do you recomend i should do? i already use cetaphil for a cleanser and tea tree oil as a spot treatment?

#83 Fran on 10.03.08 at 7:35 am

Kevin- I still swear by Paula’s Choice BHA and the spot treatment from Miessence.

I have tried using Bee Yummy as a cleanser but didn’t like it (I think it’s best as a moisturizer only), so I’m still searching for a new natural cleanser :)

teen skin- Yep, Bee Yummy would be great for your skin to. Have you joined my free mini-course? I’ve got tons of tips in there that will help with your acne.

#84 teen skin on 10.03.08 at 9:10 pm

hey fran thanks for replying :D,
lol yea ive actually joined your free-minni course wen i first got acne and ive been drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day and 2-3 fruits a day and been eating lotss more vegietables then before and my acne is inproving :D

BUT i got a burn from using a little bit to much tea tree oil on two spots and i burnt myself and i am trying to cure it, any recomendations lol sorry sorry for all the trouble next time i think i might use the fourms :D

#85 Fran on 10.04.08 at 1:08 am

A burn?? You need to dilute TTO down to about 20% ..it’s too strong undiluted. Try applying aloe vera to the burn.

#86 zack on 10.05.08 at 7:14 am

Hi Fran thank you so so so much for finding a moistuize that great for acne prone skin. I have been looking for one forever. Do you think it would also be great for a guy to use as a aftershvae? Also just a question: Okay just came back form very humid Puerto rico and it seems like my skin got so so so dry in the humidity but when I got back to Arizona and the dry air my skin got oily again what do you think that is? oNE OTHER THING i NOTICED AS MY FAMILY AND i WERE WALKING AROUND LITERALLY ALL DAY was I didnt sweat while everyone else around me looked soaked and I know that if we were walking around like that in the dry Arizona heat I would sweat bullets. I am so so confused anyway See ya later. thanks again

#87 Eden on 10.05.08 at 7:20 am

Hi again, I received my jar in the mail last week. I was wondering what the best way to apply it is. Do you sort of lap it on or just put a thin layer on your face? Thanks.

#88 Fran on 10.05.08 at 9:51 am

Eden- The same way you do all moisturizers :)

Zack- If you’d normally use a moisturizer as an aftershave, then sure you can. Hmm, sounds like your skin is reacting the opposite way to dry air and humidity!

#89 Annie on 10.06.08 at 5:56 pm

Hey, Fran. If you’re still looking up for a good cleanser, have you looked up African Black Soap yet? It’s all natural and has pretty good results. Check it out:
http://www.afrikanrepublic.com/pd_duduosun.cfm
I bought mine on ebay cuz it was cheaper.

#90 Chris on 10.06.08 at 9:52 pm

I’ve been using Bee Yummy for about 2 days now and I love it…honestly it feels awesome on my skin.

I stopped my “Duac” (AntiBiotic/BP) treatment this week in favour of a more natural approach as for far too long I’ve been starving my skin of what it truly needs - Moisture and nourishment.

As Fran experience and stated there is a ‘transitional’ period which I also had - for me even more so because of the switch to an all natural product! It has brought all my red bumps to a head, which is great. I’ve got a new cleansing routine of Pure Virgin coconut oil (Helps me shave and keeps me skin clean and soft) Followed by Aubrey Oatmeal and Aloe mask topped off with Bee Yummy and I feel as long as I provide my skin with what it needs - it’ll provide me with the results I need.

All I can stay is try it, give it at least 4 weeks and hey at the least your doing your skin and body a favour by adding no more synthetic nonsense!

I’ve taking a ‘before photo’ and I’ll be posting in the forums in 4 weeks time - fingers crossed.

Good luck

#91 Fran on 10.07.08 at 12:55 am

Annie- yes I have heard of African Soap, but I’ve heard mixed reviews about it because it can be a little drying to the skin - have you found that?

Chris- Careful of the Coconut oil. It has a high comedogenic rating of 4, so it can clog your pores. After using it to cleanse for about a week I had the worst case of clogged up cosmetic acne that took me months to fix. That’s great you’re loving the Bee Yummy :)

#92 Annie on 10.07.08 at 1:43 am

It is a bit drying…but that’s why I use it with the bee yummy as a moisturizer.

#93 Jono on 10.07.08 at 1:45 am

Heya Fran,

Bought one from your site a week ago. Wonder if you shipped it yet and if you know how long it would take to come to Australia. Cant wait! Thanks!

Jono

#94 Fran on 10.07.08 at 1:47 am

Jono- Shipping takes 6-10 days and the manufacturer posts daily. It’s coming from the other side of the world but it’s on its way :)

#95 sheila on 10.08.08 at 4:42 pm

Fran, i have been using the oil cleansing method (with the virgin coconut oil and castor oil combination) that i had found on your site about a month ago…is bee yummy ok to use with this method, or would you suggest another cleansing method…so you know, i have some pretty harsh cystic acne around my jawline and moderate cystic acne on my cheeks and around my mouth and chin. i had another one of my ocd acne moments and ordered the new skinID pack from neutrogena and i am still pretty skeptical about it (haven’t even received it in the mail yet, and i may just send it back once i read the ingredients!…but supposedly the benzoyl peroxide (2.5%) is supposed to clear up the bacteria that is causing my cysts. i dunno though.

#96 Fran on 10.09.08 at 1:14 am

Hi Sheila, you might want to take a look through the acne article archives - http://www.highonhealth.org/acne/ ..all of your questions are answered in there.

Be careful of the coconut oil. I wrote a couple of articles after that which explained how badly the coconut oil clogged up my pores, then took months to fix. Many people however find that it doesn’t clog their pores so you may be fine with it.

I’ve also written articles about BP which I don’t like because it made my cystic acne worse by excessively drying out my skin. Again, some people have great luck with it.

Take a look at this article: http://www.highonhealth.org/can-proactiv-cure-acne/ It talks about Proactiv, but essentially Proactiv is just BP so it applies to any BP product.

#97 sheila on 10.09.08 at 3:35 am

Thanks for all your help, Fran! i’ll go back and read some of your other articles to see if i can figure anything out :) i was doing some of my own research and found a product line called skintactix: http://www.skintactix.com/

i bought the one for sensitive skin. i find that even though my acne is pretty bad in places, if i use a harsher treatment, it ends up drying out and becoming worse.

this stuff looks pretty good, so i’ll let you know how that works for me!

#98 Ana on 10.09.08 at 1:00 pm

I’ve been using it for 2 days now and I have a great feeling about it! So far no adverse reaction. It did make 2 small whiteheads come to a head after the first night but by the second day they were almost healed. It feels great and I like the smell, and I love that I don’t have to worry about it breaking me out more!

It took about a week to get to me. I live in California. I ordered a sample about a week earlier and got impatient and ordered the full size. I had a sample in my order too though. Not sure if they give all full-sizes a sample or if they just threw my sample order in with my regular order.

Anyway, I’ll post a real review in a few weeks. Thanks so much Fran!

#99 Chris on 10.09.08 at 11:23 pm

Thanks for the advice Fran, I’ve stopped using the coconut oil now. The bee yummy is bringing everything to the surface nicely (I’ve not known anything to bring heads up so fast - sooner they’re up - sooner gone right?). My skin no longer feels tight or irritated but hydrated and so smooth - damages my tough guy image lol…I’ll show my pictures on the forums soon!

I’ve found that BP dries out my skin too much and when you stop using it well you know what happens. Invest in a skin care regime that doesn’t upset the ph balance as after all everything we put on our skin is effectively a foreign substance but better it be natural and nourishing than synthetic and drying. When switching to natural products remember your skin has more than likely been through so much and needs to rebalance give it time to heal.

#100 Orawan on 10.12.08 at 1:01 am

Hi Fran, ive been using bee yummy for about two and a half weeks now. And in this first week i think my skin went through a purging period (like u explained). So i started to develop some pimples and whiteheads on my face. BY the second week i had my period.. so i think i had another breakout which was hormonal. However when i use bee yummy i feel like my skin becomes really oily and it shows through my mineral makeup as well. Is this normal? Also my breakout does not seem to be gettin better. Would you be able to explain how and why this happened? THANKS ALOT FRAN!! and sorry for leaving a negative comment on this product. I really want to love it!! :(

#101 Fran on 10.12.08 at 1:34 am

Hi Orawan, that’s okay ..there is no one product that’s magic for everyone.

For the first 5-7 days of using Bee Yummy I didn’t particularly like it or how it felt on my skin. I realize now that my skin was going through a transition phase, a little bit of purging and the oils were balancing back to their natural state. I’m guessing the length of this transition phase heavily depends on the current health of your skin. So if your skin has been going through harsh treatments with BP or similar, or you’ve just had the hormonal time, then it could take a little longer.

Is your skin normally very oily? Have you always used a moisturizer in the past? In times of the year when my skin is oily because of humidity, I just don’t moisturizer, or I don’t moisturize the T-zone area of my face.

http://www.highonhealth.org/do-we-really-need-to-moisturize/

Or you can try just using a lot less. Follow your intuition with it and you’ll know what to do :) But I’d suggest to give it a couple more weeks (especially since you’ve just gone through your cycle when your skin is at its oiliest and most temperamental), or if you really don’t feel like it’s right for you - stop using it.

#102 Orawan on 10.12.08 at 11:02 am

Thanks Fran for the advice. I think im going to keep on trying to use it and see how it goes. My skin before was combination but these past few months it seems to be getting more oily, as in oil on my cheeks as well. Im not quite sure if it could be my trilogy cleanser that ive switched over too as well! since its a natural product and contains oils maybe because its gettin a bit hot, oils are gettin trappped into my pores. Im thinking about investing in the Philosophy cleanser however whats the PH balance for that? thanks alot fran! u have helped me out soo much!!

#103 Fran on 10.12.08 at 11:23 am

Oh yeah, you need to be careful with oils, especially in times of heat and humidity. I learned that the hard way after my OCM disaster! I’m not sure what the PH balance of the philosophy cleanser is. You could try emailing them or doing a google search.

#104 Amy on 10.13.08 at 4:22 am

I am tempted to try this. Can you use it in conjunction with prescription acne meds? In the morning I use BP 5% and Cleocin (topical antibiotic) and then I apply my makeup. Could I add the Bee Yummy after the Cleocin and before the makeup, or would that be too much? At night I use Differin and Sulfacetamide Sodium, Could I follow that up with Bee Yummy? The prescription meds are keeping me from getting new acne bumps, but I still have a bunch of red pigmentation areas from recent acne that I want to get rid of. Will the Bee Yummy do that?

#105 Fran on 10.14.08 at 3:42 am

Amy- yes , it’s good to use with prescription acne meds because it’s very hydrating and healing to the skin. It will provide your skin with a ton of nutrients which are especially important when the medications are causing stress to your skin.

Bee Yummy is very good but it’s not a miracle product. The only thing that will get rid of your hyperpigmentation scars is either time or something cosmetic like microdermabrasion.

#106 Anne on 10.15.08 at 3:42 pm

hello,
I ordered the bee yummy samples already, and i am wondering if i should apply it before or after my Clean & Clear Persagel 10 treatment.

#107 Nico on 10.15.08 at 11:33 pm

Thank you Fran for pointing out this moosturizer.
There is one Online Shop in UK who sells it and has acceptable shipping fees for us living in europe. (Sorry about that I would have loved to buy from you but the shipping fee made me search for an alternative)

Anyway, I got it a few days ago and I’m amazed. This moisturizer is - at least till now - the answers to my prayers: Neither get my cheeks dry anymore nor does my t-zone get oily the fast as usual. And it isn’t greasy so I can even use it under my make up! (To all MMU users out there I highly recommend this moisturizer to you!)

Honestly when I first opend the packages I wan’t thrilled, it doesn’t really look like a normal cream, I even thought it went bad already… and the smell well it’s not the best but I think I can live with it.

Do you think I can use this as an eye cream as well? I do have a dry eye area and like to put an rather greasy creams in the evening so I’m not sure if this moisturizer would be enough for that too. I tried it yesterday but I had the feeling my eyes burned a little after it. (This might not be from the be yummy since my eye lids do burn sometimes after putting on a cream but still I never had that problem with my olay eye gel.)

#108 Constance on 10.16.08 at 6:10 am

I ordered a sample from live-live.com last week and received it yesterday. I was pleased to find samples of not only Bee Yummy Moisturizer but also their Eye and Lip cream (which is more like a balm) and a mask.

I used the mask last night, applied it before bed and slept with it on. My face felt fresh in the morning.

I applied Bee Yummy before work today under my makeup. I found it absorbed very quickly and felt nice. My face seems somewhat dry now and like some pimples are coming to head, so I am presuming this is my “transition period”.

Nico: I would order the Eye and Lip cream. I have VERY sensitive skin around my eyes, even eyeliners irritate me if I do not remove them completely. I applied some last night and my eyes feel smooth and are not irritated whatsoever.

I’ll post back with more details with how Bee Yummy is working out for me.

#109 sheree on 10.16.08 at 12:29 pm

hey fran :D
I just wanted to ask which moisturizer should i buy? bee yummy skin food or the banalasta Natural Hydrating Day Cream, im only a teen and i have oily skin and im in need for a moisturizer i live in australia nsw so the banalasta cream would be good to buy cause its so close and its cheap compared to the bee yummy skin food but which moisterizer do you think is better?

thanks :D

#110 Fran on 10.16.08 at 8:46 pm

Hi Sheree, it depends on personal preference and where you live. Bee Yummy is currently difficult to buy outside of North America so Banalasta might be a better option for you since you’re in Australia :)

#111 sheree on 10.17.08 at 7:55 pm

cool thanks :) do you think banalasta is worth buying? like im using the cetaphil moisturizing lotion but i wanna use something natural
thankyou.

#112 Kamilla R. on 10.17.08 at 11:46 pm

Hi Fran!

I ordered My Bee Yummy Skin Food at the 5th of October do you think it will get to me soon? I really hope so, I am so excited about trying it :)

Thanks

#113 Jon on 10.18.08 at 1:50 pm

Hi Fran, Do you know if you’ll be getting more of the Bee yummy yourself and shipping it locally in canada? The shipping is $17 and its pretty overkill since the product itself is $29 i would like to test this on my arm which has exzema and a bit of bumps.

Let me know

thanks
